Season 6 Trailer

Warzone Storyline

Season 1

Al-Qatala has taken a death blow after the success of the Spec Ops. However, the Al-Qatala had plans to strike one critical weakness of the Armistice; their composition of otherwise opposing enemy factions. An incident occurs that downs a cargo containing a chemical weapon, resulting in a faction conflict between the Allegiance and Coalition members of the Armistice; in order to obtain ownership of the weapon.

Season 2

The Armistice is now in disarray and the infighting has now grown to full-scale war. The Al-Qatala took advantage of the circumstances and smuggled a nuclear weapon into the Verdansk. Captain Price and other commanders of the Armistice send in a single operator to recover the nuke - Simon "Ghost" Riley.

Season 3

Despite Ghost's efforts, the operation exceeded the capabilities of a single operator; meaning reinforcements were deployed. Alex, first thought to be KIA during the original campaign, was sent in. The in-fight growing ever more severe, rather than fighting the terrorist threat, the soldiers were fighting amongst each other for survival by attempting to secure the limited means of escape as the chemical gas closes in.

Season 4

With the situation in Verdansk looking bleak, a drastic action was needed to resolve the situation. Task Force 141 was sent in under the leadership of Captain Price.

Season 5

As the chaos intensifies in Verdansk and the Armistice alliance becomes strained beyond its breaking point, Shadow Company arrives. They make an explosively memorable entrance, dropping in with style to make a statement and bolster the Allegiance, despite the company’s fireteam seemingly operating independently under their own set of rules.

Nuke Live Event

According to The Gaming Revolution, a live Nuke event is supposed to occur to transition the map to the new Black Ops Cold War map.

We know, thanks to @_TomHenderson_, that there are at least two events still to come in Warzone that are related to the new Call of Duty title.

Imran Zakhaev is at the heart of the destruction by using the Dam to charge the Bunker 10 nuke.

Modern Warfare Season 6 Maps

Station

A picturesque rural Kastovia train station serves as the backdrop to the latest Gunfight arena.

Operators will want to use the station’s exterior and abandoned military cargo trains as part of a winning strategy.

Station has some quirks beyond its simplistic design, beckoning true Gunfight masters to uncover jump spots and tactical angles that may help them crush the opposition.

Every top of the boxcars and passenger car can be climbed on top of, which give superior verticality at the cost of being essentially exposed on all sides.

Broadcast

Broadcast returns from Call of Duty 4!

Whether you experienced its first iteration back in 2007, in a remastered version since, or within Warzone, expect to drop into familiar territory when infiltrating this recently abandoned communications centre.

Mialstor Tank Factory

Mialstor Tank Factory is built for both 6v6 and 10v10 play, changing its playable dimensions depending on the size of the lobby.

For either skirmish size, expect a mix of indoor and outdoor combat zones with two large buildings – the eponymous tank factory and a warehouse – being the map’s central point of conflict due to sheer surface area and accessible rooftops. Other areas to explore include an abandoned workshop, skybridge, scrapyard, shipping area and residential zone, with some parts of the map sectioned off if it is being used for 6v6 combat.

+ 28

Verdansk Riverside

A once-unlabeled landmark on the in-game Tac Map, Verdansk Riverside is a suburb that lies across the frozen Gora River from the Verdansk International Airport, with its northern border defined by cliffs that eventually lead to the Arklov Peak Military Base.

Using available vehicles, squads will navigate within and around this village, as the streets themselves may turn into no man’s land shortly after infiltration. Most buildings will act as cover from heavy machinery, or as a mounting and overlook point for those using long-range weaponry. CQB operators may find it better to clear individual structures out one-by-one or use walls and natural cover to avoid long sightlines and vehicle traffic.

Here are some of the remaining maps that we could eventually see:

  • Borderline
  • Takedown
  • Village
  • Offshore
  • Faridah
  • Emporium
  • Layover
  • Assault
  • Breakneck
  • Seine Don
  • Scaries
  • Fallout
  • Military Base 2
  • Firing Range
  • Garden
  • Ravine
  • Oasis
  • Malyshev
  • Hairat

Allegedly there are 60 maps in the works for Modern Warfare at the moment, but whether they will make it to the final game is unknown.

@ModernWarzone has theorised that some of the maps are being saved for the sequel. Despite reporting High Rise arriving in-game, nothing has been heard since.

But he believes that Broadcast is the next multiplayer map.

We've also got a number of Gunfight maps to look forward to

  • Fork (Gunfight)
  • Hook (Gunfight)
  • Exclusion (Gunfight)
  • Boneyard (Gunfight)
  • Cornfield (Gunfight)
  • Theatre (Gunfight)
  • Townhouse (Gunfight)
  • Walco 2 (Gunfight)
  • Drainage (Gunfight)
  • King PM (Gunfight)
  • Exclusion (Gunfight)
  • Layover (Gunfight)

Please bear in mind, some of these may just be codenames and not their final map names.

Modern Warfare Season 6 Weapons

@BKTOOR_, whos posted footage of the R700, back before Season 5, has also posted gameplay of the AS VAL assault rifle and  AA-12 shotgun. It's likely that these two weapons will be added in the new season.

@TheGamingRevo3 has speculated that the AS VAL and SP-R208 will be the launch weapons, with the AA-12 arriving in the mid-season update.

@TheMW2Ghost has also confirmed that two new codes were added to Season 4 'm200 & m200_c'.

The m200 is the CheyTac Intervention, meaning it could arrive in the next season.

@ModerWarzone also chimed in saying that the Spas-12 was found in the game files back in February.

Call of Duty: Warzone

A few months ago, Taylor Kurosaki (Infinity Ward's Narrative Lead) and Amos Hodge (Raven Software's Director) confirmed that plenty of new content is coming to Warzone including:

  • New items in-game that you can put in your loadout
  • New items to find in BR and Plunder that aren't in your loadout
  • New Field Upgrades
  • New modes
  • New loot
  • Narrative story

We've certainly had plenty of that during the duration of Warzone and it wouldn't be surprising to see more come our way.

Here's everything that has been confirmed and rumoured in the new season for Warzone.

Updated Loot

Infinity Ward has assured that ground loot will have a continuous overhaul to diversify the strategies you can take across Warzone; so you can expect new tools of destruction to play with.

Expect to see every weapon type with a silenced and non-silenced variant, allowing squads to kit themselves for silent operations

New weapons and blueprints will be added to Supply Boxes and ground loot to Verdansk and stay tuned for additional meta updates as the Warzone further evolves.

Game Modes

Armored Royale: This fast-paced, high action Battle Royale variant gives every squad an armored Cargo Truck, complete with a turret and plenty of armor plating. Squad members can respawn if their truck is still in one piece, but once that squad’s vehicle disappears, so does their ability to return to the fight. The last squad standing wins, regardless of whether their truck just rolled out of a repair shop or has its parts scattered around greater Verdansk.

Weapon Rotation: Verdansk received a new shipment of weaponry that’s now scattered around the map on the ground or in Supply Boxes. A combination of familiar armaments and new blueprints will be a part of this more streamlined Season Six weapon rotation, which includes six Common, 10 Uncommon, 13 Rare, 18 Epic and 24 Legendary variants.

Night Mode is coming to Warzone!

Nightfall Solos, Duos, Trio and Quads have been added to the game since the Season 5 Reloaded update.

The new trailer also seems to have a very dark theme and suggests the mode is coming.

Photo via @ModernWarzone

@ModernWarzone also confirmed a Zombie mode will be added.

"Zombie Royale: Be the last team with a human alive to win. Players turn into zombies on death, but can become human again by consuming fallen players hearts."

Read More: Warzone Season 6 Zombies Mode: Release Date, Zombie Royale, Night Mode, What Is It, Easter Egg, Black Ops Cold War Event And Everything We Know So Far

@ModernWarzone has found additional playlists in the code for Warzone:

  • Duos: One-Shot and Stimulus
  • Solos, Duos, Trios and Quads: Bottom Line
  • Infinite Gulag
  • Most Wanted
  • Run Like Hell
  • Mo' Gulag, Mo' Problems
  • Non-Stop
  • PewPew
  • Inflation Redeployment

There's no mention of a ranked playlist or mode for Warzone at this time.

Since the Battle Royale and the multiplayer are tied together with universal progression (including the battle pass) its unlikely that much will come in the form of unique Warzone cosmetics.

Map Changes

A Metro Subway will be added to the game and this has now been confirmed in the new trailer.

Get around the Warzone in a flash with the recently opened subway system, known as the “Metro” in-game. This dynamic fast travel system combines existing points of interest with new transportation stations for a high risk, high reward movement option within Verdansk.

+ 28

At one of a number of open Metro stations around the city, squads can move underground via staircases to find potential item spawns all the way to that station’s platform. Once there, squads can catch a ride on a subway train, which will whisk them off to the next station in seconds.

Despite its “retro” interior, this subway system boasts incredible safety standards; it will not travel to a station that falls outside the safe area during Battle Royale matches, nor move a single inch if there is any conflict aboard its cars.

+ 28

Throughout Verdansk, you will notice small Subway entrances that are closed currently and will open later in the year.

+ 28

A new subway station has appeared near Verdansk Stadium. During the CDL stream, a future version of Verdansk was shown and a new station can be seen to the left of the Stadium.

It confirms theories that an underground subway will be added to the game in the next season.

+ 28

If you've been checking out the strategy guide that Activision launched with Warzone, there are many areas listed as "classified".

It's easy to assume these areas will be unlocked as time goes on and particularly when Season 6 launches.

With confirmation that a Subway is being implemented into Warzone, we're assuming that these classified areas are the Metro station entrances and link up the bunkers.

+ 28

Players could be forgiven for not noticing certain changes to the new main menu in Modern Warfare and Warzone, that showcases Chernobyl and Pripyat.

In Season 3, the menus showed the Dam overflowing and starting to release water. The current dam in Warzone is frozen and no water is really on the map at all right now.

There were also suspicious howling noises, a mystery that has still yet to be solved.

Strangely, these highlighted areas and points have been completely forgotten about nothing has really arrived from it.

In fact, Infinity Ward’s Narrative Director Taylor Kurosaki briefly mentioned how the studio is looking at Fortnite-like events that fit the Warzone and Modern Warfare universe.

We're currently turning our attention to Black Ops Cold War, which is being revealed in Warzone. New buildings, bunkers and other easter eggs are being discovered that could potentially transform the map.

We know that Warzone will evolve with the new Call of Duty and perhaps once the new game has been officially revealed, we will start to see the map slowly evolve as we get closer to launch.

New Map

Is Urzikstan the next Warzone map? Reddit user u/StreetfighterXD seems to think so, and they've written a very detailed description as to why it will be.

+ 28

It's a logical assumption, after all, Blackout (the Black Ops 4 battle royale) produced two maps during its time.

Not to mention in the opening cinematic for Season 4, you can clearly see Urzikstan highlighted on the map - could the nukes in Season 4 obliterate Verdansk and make way for a new location?

+ 28

@ModernWarzone has shared information from one of their Discord mods that pointed out a stagnant sand storm is surrounding Urzikstan (in-game).

Although a new map may not be on the way soon, they have reason to believe that the new circle will no longer be gas, but instead a sandstorm.

+ 28

Photo via @ModernWarzone

It ultimately seems very unlikely at this stage and if it was part of the plan in the past, it's likely been scrapped due to release of Black Ops Cold War.

Zombies

According to @ModernWarzone, there are multiple references to zombies in Warzone - specifically Zombies In Spaceland.

He's said that there are multiple references including:

  • Spaceland docs in Verdansk
  • Zombie round ending sounds
  • Howling near Dm and Prison
  • Screaming at Prison & Dam
  • Teddy bears throughout Verdansk
  • Zombie rat in Warzone
  • 115 on RCXD
  • The “gas”
+ 28

Zombies were originally planned for Modern Warfare, but were later scrapped.

These could be left over files, small easter eggs or even set-up for Black Ops Cold War.

Vehicles

A lot of theories are popping up that suggests tanks will arrive in Warzone, but nothing is concrete yet.

Season 6 Battle Pass Rewards

There will be 100 Tiers of content, some of which will be free, but the rest requires players to purchase the Pass for 1,000 CoD Points.

The Battle Pass features an array of weapons, blueprints, emblems, stickers, charms, calling cards, watches, operator skins, vehicle skins, finishing moves, XP tokens and 1300 COD Points.

Farah, Minotaur’s “Poloski” skin and “Gilded Arm” Epic Assault Rifle Blueprint are rewarded instantly.

Expect over two dozen skins, including those available through additional Battle Pass Missions, that cover a wide range of Operators across both factions, including “On the Rocks” Gaz, “Off Grid” Domino and, at Tier 90, the “Yenisey” Bale skin. Also, prepare to sic “Edward,” a pet bat, on your enemies with a Finishing Move that bears his name.

The “Innocence Lost” Combat Knife blueprint provides a further reference to a pivotal moment in the game’s Campaign, modelling this variant after a Screwdriver Farah used to save her and her brother’s lives.

Blueprints available after Battle Pass purchase include three handguns, three SMGs, three assault rifles, two shotguns, three LMGs, three marksman rifles, and one sniper rifle.

Halloween-inspired exterior for four different Warzone vehicles – the “Mutated” ATV, “Flight of Torment” Helicopter, “From the Deep” SUV and “Stained” Tac Rover skins – as part of the Season Six Battle Pass.

You'll be able to purchase 20 Tier skips for 2,400 CoD points, too.

Once you complete your pass you can earn the new Operator Nikolai, “VSS” Legendary Assault Rifle Blueprint, “Grizzly End” Cargo Truck Skin and the Season 6 emblem.

Across numerous free Tiers, players can unlock multiple new songs to be used as War Tracks, songs that play while driving vehicles in Warzone and Modern Warfare.

Here are some of the songs outside of the Call of Duty universe that can be unlocked and played in game:

“War Track Pack: Hip Hop Edition”:

  • Jack Harlow’s “WHATS POPPIN’”
  • DMX’s “Ruff Ryders’ Anthem”
  • Clipse’s “Grindin’”

If you managed to grind your way through the battle pass for Season 4, you should have earnt enough points to buy the Season 5 pass for free.

Spec Ops

The Spec Ops mode is receiving less love as time goes on, although a few new maps have been added to the survival mode.

We could see a few more maps added this season.

Season 6 Operators

A new season means new Operators and as more campaign characters are added to the mix, there are plenty that could still arrive.

Farrah and Nikolai are the Season 6 Operators.

“This occupation must end. That we can all agree on, yes?”

The founder and Commander of the Urzikstani Liberation Force, Farah, grew up a fighter after surviving imprisonment by Roman Barkov.

She’s an exceptional soldier and leader that’s known a lifetime of war. Her skills have been further honed with additional training with the SAS, and she’s led dangerous missions to fight off Al-Qatala forces and other regimes stationed in her country.

“Nikolai, you’ve been a bad boy.” “From you that’s a compliment.”

Nikolai is the leader of the Chimera, a PMC within the Allegiance. A long-time friend to Captain Price, Nikolai initially worked with Price, Kamarov, and Kate Laswell to build the Armistice to stop the rise of a new AQ. After the Armisitice collapse, Nikolai now takes the battle in his own hands to stop Zakhaev.

Marcus Griggs is also rumoured to arrive.

Here are some characters we would like to see return:

  • Imran Zakhaev
  • Soap MacTavish
  • General Shepherd
  • Marcus Griggs
  • Farah Karim
  • Khaled Al-Asad

Season 6 Game Modes

Killstreak Confirmed: This Kill Confirmed variant comes charging in with multiple changes concerning Killstreaks: These can only be earned by collecting enemy dog tags. However, your streak won’t reset on death, so you’ll want to rush for tags as fast as possible to earn your Killstreaks. Trying to stay alive? Unlike traditional game modes, Killstreak Confirmed also allows players to “wrap” Killstreaks, making it possible to earn the same Killstreak (like the UAV or Cluster Strike) multiple times in one life. The team that collects the target number of dog tags – in spite of the inevitable barrage of Killstreaks – wins the match.

Gun Game TDM: As the name states, this mode combines the random weapon assortment of Gun Game with Team Deathmatch. Pick your loadouts for perks and equipment, then get ready to use whatever is handed out to take down the opposition. Each kill with a given weapon cycles you through a predetermined list of weaponry all the way to a Combat Knife, where one melee takedown with it resets the cycle back to the starting weapon. First team to the target kill count wins the match.

HQ: Firefight: This twist on Headquarters awards team score for both holding the objective and earning kills, almost like a Team Deathmatch. This allows teams to try to catch back up on score between HQ objectives. After a team captures an HQ, respawns are disabled until the enemy team neutralizes it. Hold down the objective and defend it from enemy players to maximize score. First team to the target score wins the match.

Hardpoint: Hills and Kills: Similar to HQ: Firefight, this mode awards team score for playing the objective – holding hills – as well as earning kills. With respawns enabled, this mode could turn into a pure deathmatch, a tactical objective game, or a chaotic mix between the two. First team to the target score wins the match.

Nine Trials to Explore: Rank up this season to earn Trial Tickets, or use tickets left over from prior seasons, and turn them into XP completing a fresh set of challenges. Whether it’s tearing up waves of enemies in either new Juggernaut Trial, cutting corners in the Quad or Helicopter Race, or just taking a Free Roam, these unique side missions add even more variety to over two dozen existing experiences.

There are many game modes that have been found in the game, but have yet to be added into the rotation:

  • Rupture - Take control of a powerful Juggernaut and push to the enemy's base to win.
  • Team Juggernaut - Each team has a Juggernaut. Juggernaut kills are worth more points. First team to reach the score limit wins.
  • Reinforce - Capture points will revive fallen teammates. Taking all points will win the round.
  • Invasion - Take your team's flag into the enemy base.
  • High-Value Target - Gain score by eliminating players on the opposing team. Extract high-value enemy combatants to steal score back..
  • Fire Mission - Eliminate enemies, capture HQ's and extract VIPs to earn score for your team.
  • Assault - Attackers attack a bombsite while defenders defend.

The following playlists have yet to be implemented:

  • Hit Man
  • Rat Race
  • Jugg of War
  • Student Loan Payments
  • Team Building Exercise
  • Working From Home - Small map mosh pit.
