Hellraiser x Dead By Daylight Teasers

UPDATE - The teasers mentioned below cover clues hinting towards Hellraiser coming to Dead by Daylight before the official teasers began for Chapter 21. For the latest info, see the latest news section above.

Talk about a possible Hellraiser chapter with Pinhead as the killer has been floating around for well over a year.

But for all the discussion surrounding the use of the Hellraiser license, there's not been anything concrete to suggest pinhead is coming anytime soon to Dead by Daylight.

For starters, one of the earliest teasers who Hellraiser, via a subtle tease from Mathieu Cote (Game Director of Dead by Daylight) on Twitter in which he referenced his best friend Simon. This could be likely a nod to either Simon Sayce who created the Hellraiser puzzle box or Simon Bamford who played Butterball (a follower of Pinhead).

It's also worth noting that Cote hasn't been shy about the idea of bringing the franchise to Dead by Daylight, telling ntower.de:

I‘m a big fan of Hellraiser! And I think Pinhead stepping in the world of the Entity would fit perfectly.

When Could Hellraiser Come To Dead By Daylight?

It's likely that any collaboration with the Hellraiser license could be saved until it suits both parties.

For instance, it would make more sense for the collaboration to happen in conjunction with the franchises upcoming reboot.

Screenrant report that David Bruckner's film reboot of Clive Barker's Hellraiser would skip theatres and head straight to streaming service Hulu.

More recently, DreadCentral had suggested that Odessa A’Zion had been cast as the lead actress and that Pinhead would be female in the remake.

There's also a “Hellraiser” TV series is also in the works at HBO Max with David Gordon Green (Halloween, Halloween Kills) directing the pilot.

However, none of these projects appears to be anywhere close to being complete. So we imagine that if a Hellraiser chapter was being planned, it's likely coming in 2022 when at least one of the aforementioned projects come to fruition.
