Dead Silence Is A Field Upgrade
Despite many players calling for Dead Silence to appear as a Perk, the ability to temporarily silence footsteps will return as a Field Upgrade, much to the annoyance of the community. Sledgehammer Games often listens to community feedback so there is a possibility of Dead Silence being repurposed as a Perk.
Specialist Bonus Returning
Following a successful alpha, a wealth of information surrounding Vanguard's Gunsmith has been uncovered. One of the features making a return to the game is Specialist Bonus.
According to notable leaker @TheMW2Ghost, Specialist will work in exactly the same way to how it functioned in 2019's Modern Warfare.

COD Vanguard Leaks
The most recent wave of leaks emerged during the Alpha, with @TheMW2Ghost uncovering a wealth of attachments that will be available for the majority of weapons in the arsenal. There's every chance that this could change but it looks like that it will be a grind to get your hands on every single weapon attachment and Perk!
COD Vanguard Developers
For the first time since the release of COD: WWII, Sledgehammer Games is back in charge of development for COD Vanguard, much to the excitement of the community. The developer has made several hires in recent years and with an expanded team, it's going to be very interesting to see what they've been working on!
COD Vanguard Alpha
Just like Black Ops Cold War and 2019's Modern Warfare, Vanguard is likely to have an alpha take place before the beta, giving Sledgehammer Games the perfect opportunity to make changes before the game fully releases.
No details on when the alpha will take place have been revealed but as soon as they are, we will update the article with all the latest information.
COD Vanguard Engine
Vanguard will be using the IW8 engine, the same one used for Modern Warfare and Warzone which should make for a smooth Warzone integration. The engine is widely considered to be the best Call of Duty engine and based on Modern Warfare, we can expect Vanguard to feature plenty of smooth gameplay and movement mechanics.
COD Vanguard Editions
Activision hasn't revealed any official information surrounding the available editions of Vanguard but based on recently leaked artwork, we have a rough idea on which editions will be available to pre-order soon. Here's a quick summary:
- Standard Edition
- Cross-Gen Edition
- Ultimate Edition
COD Vanguard Warzone Integration
Vanguard is expected to have extensive integration into Warzone with a brand-new map launching at the same time as the game. Alongside the new map, it's likely the Vanguard arsenal will be integrated into the battle royale alongside the existing set of weaponry.
COD Vanguard Setting
The game is set just after the end of World War 2. The Campaign will see the Gestapo, the political police of Nazi Germany, attempt to reclaim the rights of the party while the allies attempt to stop them.
COD Vanguard Campaign
So far, there have been minimal details as to what the Campaign will feature but one leak has seemingly revealed that players will get to choose between four characters that are based on real people.
Notable leaker Tom Henderson has managed to uncover who the characters are based on.
COD Vanguard Multiplayer
There are several rumours floating around when it comes to Vanguard multiplayer and as with all leaks, they should be taken with a pinch of salt until Activision releases any official information. Here's a summary of all Vanguard multiplayer rumours:
- 24 maps across all game modes.
- Dynamic weather events similar to Advanced Warfare.
- Anti-cheat arriving at launch.
COD Vanguard Zombies
Rather than Sledgehammer Games developing a Zombies storyline of their own, leaks are suggesting that Treyarch will be spearheading the development of the mode and will release a second year of the Dark Aether storyline currently taking place in Black Ops Cold War.
