The Genshin Impact machine is back on track pumping out fresh updates and content every few weeks, and now we're eagerly awaiting the Genshin Impact 2.8 Livestream,
We expect new character announcements alongside their banner reveals, and new weapons coming to the game to improve their performance. We'll likely see some new and rerunning events, and maybe some hints on further updates to come.
For what to do in Genshin Impact 2.7 while its still fresh, check out the Yelan build we've put together. Our Yelan materials guide can help you farm to level her up quickly as well. There's also the banner schedule to check who's coming up soon.
When Is The Genshin Impact 2.8 Livestream?
Genshin Impact 2.8 Livestream
The 2.8 Livestream is scheduled for 1 PM BST, 8 AM UTC-4, on Saturday July 2.
Where To Watch The Genshin Impact 2.8 Livestream
Hoyoverse will air Chinese and English-language livestreams on the official Genshin Impact YouTube and Twitch channels. The embed above should fire up whenever the channel goes live, so you shouldn't need to leave this page if you're already here.
Genshin Impact 2.8 Livestream Codes
A handful of codes will be released during the stream, which we'll add to our Genshin Impact codes page as soon as they drop.
In most cases, three new codes will drop throughout the maybe hour-long livestream. They tend to only remain active for a few days as well, so you'll want to act fast. Expect to get around 180 Primogems from the set, with some bonus items like XP books as well.
It's never much, but 180 Primogems might just be enough to get you over that ten-pull line for the new character you really want on launch day.
What Will Be In the 2.8 Livestream?
Hoyoverse's Genshin livestreams lay out the upcoming events, banners, and characters in the newest updates. This time, we'll get focused information on version 2.8. This will likely be the last update before the big 3.0, too, so expect the last Inazuma quests to be brought in.
We will be introduced to any new characters with banners in the first and second half of the update, including Shikanoin Heizou, and perhaps the rerun banners too. New characters' hangout events should be announced alongside this.
Livestreams always include in-game event schedules: 2.7's livestream showed us The Almighty Arataki Great and Glorious Drumalong Festival running again, and the new Chasm events to test our mettle.
For an in-depth view of what we expect in the update, here's our version 2.8 hub for all things related to the new update. And if you're already looking forward to the Genshin Impact 3.0 update, details regarding new characters like Al Haitham, Tighnari, Dori, and Collei are beginning to surface if you're up for some speculative stuff.
