Fortnitemares is Fortnite's very own take on Halloween. It's usually a big celebration in the game, and has a lot of rewards in store.
Last year's Fortnitemares was themed as Midas' Revenge. It featured a shadow Midas boss that ended up dropping a mythic Drum Gun if you defeated him.
Not only that, the island underwent a complete makeover and resonated with the Halloween theme beautifully.
Fortnitemares start date and other details
Going by the timings last year, Fortnitemares will probably start on October 24th. That's exactly a week before Halloween.
The event will last for around 2 weeks. Over the course of these two weeks, you'll have to complete Halloween themed quests in order to earn rewards.
There will be some sort of a boss fight too. However, the event will depend highly upon the theme for Fortnite Season 8, since the next season will extend beyond Halloween.
There's a chance that Epic Games might end up trolling the entire community too. This year there was no Star Wars Day celebration, so they might repeat the same stunt during Fortnitemares 2021 as well.
Recent leaks suggest that there will be a special Batman x Fortnite one shot that's scheduled to go live on October 27th. I'm assuming that the comic will have some sort of an implication on Fortnitemares too!
After the Fortnite 17.20 update, popular Fortnite data miner Hypex believes that the zombies will now die in water.
Moreover, the Shadow Bombs are coming back to Fortnite. You will be able to swim faster under the influence of a Shadow Bomb.
After the Fortnite 17.20 update, the Shadow Stones have also received an update.
That's all we have for you on Fortnitemares for now. We'll keep updating this piece as and when we receive more information.
