What To Expect from Marvel at E3 2021

There’s plenty of Marvel E3 2021 goodness coming our way, both confirmed and otherwise.

From a rumored-and-essentially-confirmed Marvel 4X tactics game in the style of XCOM to (finally!) getting to see the Marvel's Avengers Black Panther DLC, it seems as if Marvel will play a prominent role at this year’s E3.

We don’t know too much about either release as yet, though there’s enough to give a general idea of what to expect.

Wakanda is said to be the most extensive content update for Marvel's Avengers yet, and naturally, we only have tidbits and rumors for the Marvel tactics game seeing as it's not been officially announced yet.

There's not long to go before Square Enix's E3 Presentation 'Square Enix Presents' gets underway.

First Look at Black Panther - June 12

Marvel's Avengers has revealed an early look at Black Panther which we're likely to see more of at the Square Enix Presents event on Sunday.

Here's a screenshot to whet your appetite.

June 10, 2021 - Following on from Jeff Grubb's statement last month, we've now got Bloomberg's Jason Schreier claiming Guardians of the Galaxy will appear at E3 2021. Having previously disputed rumours of a new Tomb Raider or Deus Ex game, he believes this will be Eidos Montreal's new reveal.

Speaking in his latest Triple Click podcast, Schreier claimed that this won't be a live service game like Marvel's Avengers by Crystal Dynamics is, potentially going for a single-player angle. With Square Enix revealing Eidos Montreal's new game in their E3 Presentation, we don't have long to wait.

June 9, 2021 - Some rumours overnight suggest that Square Enix might not feature any big Final Fantasy series news at their E3 2021 press conference.

This is according to ResetERA forums member Sasliquid (Via wccftech.com). Supposedly, the information was also subsequently verified by the ResetERA forums administrations team.

Whilst this isn't great for anyone hoping to see Final Fantasy 16 or Final Fantasy Origin, it could mean more time in the presentation for the likes of titles like Outriders, Dragon Quest 12, Forspoken and hopefully lots of Marvel Games news.

Marvel's Avengers E3 2021

Square Enix promised to reveal the Avengers Black Panther update during its E3 2021 presentation.

We can expect a trailer and hopefully a glimpse of the DLC in action, though we might already know who the Black Panther DLC characters are thanks to a recent leak.

Beyond that, Crystal Dynamics will likely reveal the Black Panther DLC release date and new abilities we can look forward to as well.

Marvel XCOM Game E3 2021

A Reddit user citing sources in 2K Interactive claimed the publisher will reveal a new Marvel game described as Marvel, but XCOM — in other words, a squad-based Marvel strategy game.

Normally, we'd treat rumors such as that with a bit of skepticism.

However, Bloomberg's Jason Schreier confirmed the game is real and will be revealed during E3, likely during Take-Two's E3 presentation.
