How to get the sled in Sons of the Forest
As it turns out, you can't just tie some logs together and make a sled in Sons of the Forest. It's a little more complicated than that.
The Sons of the Forest sled can be obtained with the help of the 3D Printer. If you don't have that just yet, you're probably not in need of the sled. It's a late-game item for the most part, so don't worry about it if you're yet to get a 3D printer in-game.

To craft the sled, you have to spend 1k 3D Printer Resin. The sled is an extremely useful item when you need to get from a high place to somewhere entirely different, so racing to find the 3D Printer and enough resin as soon as possible can save you a lot of time in the long run.
How to use sled in Sons of the Forest
The sled is one of the coolest items in Sons of the Forest. It allows you to move really fast if you're by a slope. In order to use it, you just need to open your backpack and pull it out of the top left corner of your inventory. After that, go to the mountains or any area that has some hills for you to slide down.
Once you're positioned on a high spot with a smooth slope, grab your sled, jump, and click the left mouse button. Your character will sit on the Sled and you will be able to use it to slide down, avoiding any hazardous fall damage.

The Sled can be controlled, too. You don't need to worry about finding clean, straight roads to glide down. For some added flair, there's even a speed glitch you can use at launch to get to your destination that much faster. You'll struggle to control your direction, however, so it has limited practical use.
