What Is the Cursed Blade In Genshin Impact?

The Cursed Blade, or Kagotsurube Isshin, is a new weapon in Version 2.8, tied to Kaedehara Kazuha's story quest. The sword looks cool, and can provide a nice buff to the users' attack stats.

The weapon is said to be forged in a nation in the 'far north', likely on someone in Kazuha's forger family's trip to Snezhnaya. As we play the quest, we'll learn more!

What Are The Cursed Blade Stats?

The Cursed Blade is a 4-star weapon, with one refinement rank. Here are the stats for it:

  • Base Attack at Level 1: 41
  • Base Attack at Level 90: 510
  • Bonus stat: ATK
  • Special (Passive) Ability:
    • When a Normal, Charged, or Plunging Attack hits an opponent, it will whip up a Hewing Gale, dealing AoE DMG equal to 180% of ATK and increasing ATK by 15% for 8s. This effect can be triggered once every 8s.

Who Is the Cursed Blade For? - Best Characters for Cursed Blade

The release of this sword into Genshin Impact has stirred some rumblings in the community.

Clearly it's meant as a sword for Kaedehara Kazuha, but the abilities and skills it gives don't really do his power justice. For instance, the Cursed Blade has no Elemental Mastery buffs or anything to aid healing.

The weapon should, really, be used for a DPS or Sub-DPS build to make the most of it. Ayato and Ayaka would both benefit from this sword more than Kazuha. Even Jean, with her Anemo skills. Kazuha, despite being a good damage dealer, is often built as a support character and the Cursed Blade would not help this.

In terms of weapon refinement, the blade cannot be refined past level one. As it comes at this level, you're a little stuck in regards to upgrading it right now, but expect some limited-time event to pop up offering additional ones to use for this reason.
