What is the best Genshin Impact Jean build? The Acting Grand Master of the Knights of Favonius, Jean inherits this position from her mentor, Varka, when he departs to foreign lands on an expedition. She also holds the titles of 'Dandelion Knight' and 'Liontooth Knight,' which reflect her tenacity as a warrior and her dedication to her role within the Knights’ ranks.

What Are the Best Jean Builds?
On the battlefield, she’s one of the best Anemo DPS units, which is fitting given her background. Her capacity to heal herself and others paired with her inherent potential as a DPS unit make Jean one of the best Anemo units in the entire game. The building setups you want to assemble for her will cover different approaches to her capabilities.
Below are two of the best Jean builds right now. You can keep reading to find out the hows and whys of these particular Jean builds, but if you've used her before, you'll quickly understand the thought process behind her best weapon and artifact choices.
|Role||Best Weapon||Alternative Weapon||Best Artifacts||Alternative Artifacts|
|Anemo Sub-DPS Build||The Flute||Favonius Sword||Viridescent Venerer (4 Pieces)||Gladiator's Finale (2 Pieces) & Viridescent Venerer (2 Pieces)|
|Physical DPS Build||Aquila Favonia||Prototype Rancour||Pale Flame (2 Pieces) & Bloodstained Chivalry (2 Pieces)||Gladiator's Finale (2 Pieces) & Bloodstained Chivalry (2 Pieces)|
Jean Anemo Sub DPS Build
The idea behind this build is to make Jean a great Sub DPS, which at the same time will help her to be a better Healer and capable of triggering great Swirl Reactions. Since Jean's Elemental Burst healing values scale with her Attack, The Flute is the best option by far, given the inherent Attack stat. However, if you’re struggling at getting that weapon, the Favonius Sword goes really well too.
On the artifact side, Viridescent Venerer and its Anemo damage boost make it the best option, though it can also be tricky to get your hands on that set, so a 2-2 combo of Gladiator's Finale and The Exile will serve as a more affordable set.
Jean Physical DPS Build
The Aquila Favonia sword brings an excellent advantage in the form of Falcon’s Defiance, which will give you more sustain as HP Regeneration and buffed damage values, making it the best option. However, if you need an alternative to it, our recommendation would be Prototype Rancour.
Since we need to focus on more raw power than elemental abilities, a 2-2 mixed set of Pale Flame and Bloodstained Chivalry will be the best choice, or you can rely on a full set of either of those if you feel so inclined.
What Are the Best Team Comps for Jean?
Jean is an Anemo Sub DPS unit that plays extremely well either alone or with others but shines especially well if you can trigger as many Swirl reactions as possible. For this, companions that trigger reactions such as Tartaglia or Bennett are recommended, and also whoever can give her some extra juice, like Albedo or Zhongli.
What Are the Best Weapons for Jean?
Weapons like The Flute that boost Attack are the only real good option for Jean as an Anemo Sub DPS. You can also find equally good alternatives in the form of the Aquila Favonia, Favonius Sword, and Skyward Blade. Last but not least, if you’re looking for a more affordable option or relying on the Physical DPS build, you can craft the Prototype Rancour if you still don’t have any of the former.
|Weapon||Rarity||Stats||Skills||How to Obtain|
|The Flute||4-Star||Attack||Chord: Normal or Charged Attacks grant a Harmonic on hits. Gaining 5 Harmonics triggers the power of music and deals 100% Attack Damage to surrounding enemies. Harmonics last up to 30 seconds, and a maximum of 1 can be gained every 0.5 seconds.||Wishes|
|Favonius Sword||4-Star||Energy Recharge||Windfall: Critical hits have a 60/70/80/90/100% chance to generate 1 Elemental Orb, which will regenerate 6 Energy for the character. Can only occur once every 12/10.5/9/7.5/6 seconds.||Wishes|
|Prototype Rancour||4-Star||Physical damage Bonus||Smashed Stone: On hit, Normal or Charged Attacks increase Base Attack and Defense by 4/4.5/5/5.5/6% for 6 seconds. Can stack up to 4 times and only occur once every 0.3 seconds.||Crafting|
|Aquila Favonia||5-Star||Physical damage Bonus||Falcon's Defiance: Attack is increased by 20%. Triggers on taking damage: the soul of the Falcon of the West awakens, holding the banner of resistance aloft, regenerating HP equal to 100% of Attack and dealing 200% of Attack as damage to surrounding enemies. This effect can only occur once every 15 seconds.||Wishes|
|Skyward Blade||5-Star||Energy Recharge||Sky-Piercing Fang: Critical Rate increased by 4%. Gains Skypiercing Might upon using an Elemental Burst: Increases Movement Speed by 10%, increases Attack Speed by 10%, and increases the damage of Normal and Charged Attack hits by 20% for 12 seconds.||Wishes|

What Are Jean's Skills and Talents?
