Genshin Impact 1.4 released not too long ago, and fans were rejoicing over the return of the Venti banner, along with new story elements and other characters.

Not even a week after Genshin 1.4 released, though, and leaker are already divulging information about the upcoming Genshin Impact 1.5 update, including characters, new enemies, and the possibility of an interesting new mechanic usually reserved for MMOs.

The Genshin Impact 1.5 preview event on April 16 confirmed almost all of these leaks as well.

No more is it merely speculative.

Genshin Impact is getting housing and a town-building mode, two new characters, new bosses, and more, plus a sneak peak at Inazuma.

Still, we've got a good idea what to expect from the latest Genshin update.

Genshin Impact 1.5 Release Date

Genshin Impact 1.5, aka Genshin Impact Beneath the Light of Jadeite, begins April 28 and coincides with Genshin's PS5 release, which miHoYo recently showed off in more detail.

If it's like other Genshin Impact updates, 1.5 will likely last six weeks, just as Genshin 1.4 did.

Genshin Impact 1.5 Release Time

The update goes live at 6 PM EST/11 p.m. BST on the 27th of April.

Server downtime will last roughly five hours, though as always, miHoYo said it could be shorter or longer.

Whatever happens, expect the usual downtime rewards once the Genshin servers are back up.

Genshin Impact 1.5 Pre-Load

Here's when you can install the update early.

Genshin Impact 1.5 Characters

Players who took part in the Genshin Impact beta were correct in that they leaked some of Genshin Impact 1.5’s new characters.

Where Genshin 1.4 only introduced one new character, Rosaria, Genshin Impact 1.5 is adding at least two.

Eula is a five-star Cryo character from Mondstadt’s Knights of Favonius who wields a greatsword and hails from a noble family of old.

Yanfei is the second leaked Genshin Impact character. She’s a four-star Pyro character who makes her living as a legal specialist and proclaimed genius in Liyue Harbor.

Yanfei will be first in the Gentry of Hermitage banner event with Zhongli.

Get ahead of the game with our Yanfei guide and Eula guide.

Genshin 1.4 reran Venti's banner, so there's a good chance we'll also see another chance to get Zhongli, the five-star Geo Archon.

Genshin Impact 1.5 Inazuma

miHoYo provided some Genshin Impact Inazuma concept art as a tease of what's to come.

While we probably won't see the new Genshin Impact region during the update, the art suggests we'll be headed to Inazuma sooner rather than later.

Genshin Impact 1.5 Housing

Genshin leaker Zeniet suggested Genshin Impact is receiving some kind of housing feature related to a teapot, and it turns out they were right.

The Traveler (you) will receive the Serenitea Pot from adepti in Liyue, and inside is another world.

Said world is free to shape as you wish apparently, with options to choose and place buildings, animals, and more.

The Genshin Impact 1.5 trailer shows themed rooms for key characters, including Sucrose and Yanfei, though it's not certain if characters have their own furniture sets.

Genshin Impact 1.5 New Bosses

The Genshin 1.5 trailer proved yet another leak true.

The Vishap boss Azhdaha storms the scene as a new weekly boss, and it's connected to Zhongli's story.

Cryo Hypostasis finally makes an appearance as another recurring boss and will drop valuable character Ascension materials.

Genshin Impact 1.5 Events

New characters and housing aside, there's the usual new events to look forward to as well.

Hangout Events Series 2

Genshin Impact Hangout Event series 2 begins during the 1.5 update.

So far, we only know of Diona being involved.

The first series included four characters, though, so it's likely we'll see at least three other characters taking part.

Energy Amplifier Initiation

The Energy Amplifier Initiation tasks you with earning different shards to power an elemental device that influences your combat.

Taking part will earn you Primogems, Mora, and Ascension materials.

Misty Dungeon

The Misty Dungeon is a new challenge you'll have to deal with only using equipment earned in hte dungeon itself.

No outside equipment can be used.

Taking part in this one will also earn Primogems, Ascension materials, and enhancement ore.

Windtrace

Windtrace is an ancient Mondstadt game that divides players into Hunters and Rebels, with the goal being either capturing the Rebels or evading the Hunters.

Playing Windrace earns (surprise!) Primogems and Ascension materials.

Mimi Tomo

Finally, there's an Unusual Hilichurl wandering the wilds.

Tracking down clues by speaking with other Hilichurls will lead you to it, and resolving the quest earns yet more rewards.

Genshin Impact is now available on PlayStation 4 and PC, with a Nintendo Switch port planned in the future.

The built-for-PS5 version releases April 28.
