Genshin Impact is coming to PS5, developer miHoYo announced on Twitter.
Genshin Impact PS5 will release sometime in spring, and the 1.5 preview trailer showed Genshin Impact PS5 releases April 28 alongside the new update.
While Genshin is currently playable on PS5, the new version is developed specifically for Sony’s next-gen console.
That means it will include features only possible on the PS5, including the usual things — enhanced load times, for example — and DualSense support, among other things.
While Genshin Impact on PS5 is built specifically for Sony's new system, it seems we won't be getting DualSense support after all.
We’ve broken down everything you need to know about Genshin on PlayStation 5 and will update as more information becomes available.

When is Genshin Impact PS5’s release date?
Genshin Impact for PlayStation 5 will release April 28, 2021
miHoYo will likely announce more in the next few weeks or so, since the news came in a brief tweet and as an aside in a PlayStation Blog update.
What are Genshin Impact’s PS5 Differences?
Genshin Impact’s PS5 version includes faster loading times, enhanced visuals, and improved in-game images.
miHoYo president Forrest Liu said the team is also including improved versions of every game texture (courtesy of Gematsu).
The PS5 version also uses the console's SSD to reduce load times, among other things, and miHoYo said this is all just the beginning.
The graphics library and SSD are the basis for even more enhancements in future Genshin Impact updates.
Finally, the PS5 version takes advantage of DualSense capabilities.
How it does that isn’t clear yet, though miHoyo said they're still working with the next-gen technology and will continue to provide different functionality in future updates.

Is Genshin Impact Free on PS5?
Genshin Impact on PlayStation 5 will still be free to play, just like it is on every platform.
The only cost is if you choose to buy Genesis Crystals to exchange for Primogems or if you pay to advance the game’s Battle Pass, neither of which is necessary.
What Rewards will Genshin Impact PS5 Offer?
It’s hard to say for sure.
However, miHoYo likes to reward players with Primogems, experience items, and more to commemorate big events.
We’d be surprised if the same weren’t true for Genshin’s PS5 launch.
Will Genshin Impact PS5 Have Cross-Save?
So far, it seems the Genshin Impact cross-save situation will stay the same.
Genshin on PlayStation uses the player’s PSN account, while mobile and PC versions use the player’s miHoYo account.
As yet, there’s no sign that will change anytime soon.
If you're playing on PC and want to start on PlayStation 5, you'll have to start a new game.
Will Genshin Impact Be On Xbox?
miHoYo hasn’t given any indication of Genshin on Xbox yet.
