While a massive amount of GTA Online players have dedicated themselves to the grind, with the goal of becoming a massively wealthy billionaire via dangerous sales missions, unpredictable casino sessions or clever nightclub management, there are still some in the game who are open to a bit of fun.

While this has previously involved making a submarine fly and forming fruit-based gangs, this time things have taken on a bit more of a Call of Duty-esque flavour.

This is thanks to one player on Reddit, who’s decided to use the game’s map editor to create their own custom deathmatch featuring a massive battleship built from scratch out of various props.

Fancy a quick deathmatch at sea?

This creation is the subject of a recent thread in the GTA Online subreddit, which began with a post from the creator themselves, user gillianvrielink, who short clip showing off the battleship, which is floating off the coast of San Andreas, from the air, captioning it: “I tried to make an original deathmatch, or something unique, what do you think?”

Many of their fellow players expressed their approval of the map, with users ShaddoBlade and Delicious_Bed_4696 both suggesting it reminded them of retro Halo maps and community creations.

User TheCupcakeScrub shared a similar sentiment, saying: “Hell yeah, I wanna try a match on that.”, while KoalaPancakes69 asked for the link to the map on Rockstar Games’ Social Club so they could check it out.

On the other hand, user Affectionate-Tie-212 said: “(I) can't imagine how long that took.”, leading gillianvrielink to reveal: “Around 5-6 hours, but that also includes testing and fine-tuning.”

Meanwhile, a few users took a look and decided to recommend a few possible improvements to the ship that might make the firefights it will inevitably host a little more competitive, with CrucialElement suggesting: “Maybe add some under levels like the real carrier in-game and (it) definitely needs some ladders up to the top middle part for both sides.”

User PotatoBomb69, though, had less of an analytical eye, revealing: “I thought they added a new boat for a second when I saw this.”
