There's no travelling by foot in Minecraft Legends. You command your golem army from a steady steed from the get-go, but there are a few other mount options you can use to get from one place to the next. Here's how to unlock the Big Beak bird mount in Minecraft Legends.
The Big Beak is one of four Minecraft Legends mounts, with the others being the horse, beetle, and tiger. They're all good at their own thing, and while they're not essential to your triumphs in this action-strategy game, they're fun to cycle between based on your favourite skins.
How to unlock the Beetle mount in Minecraft Legends
To unlock the Big Beak mount in Minecraft Legends, you just need to play through enough of the opening section of the game for the map to finally fill up with lots of landmarks.
After completing the showdown in which the skeletons, zombies, and creepers come out of the woodwork to help you win, you'll have free reign to seek out loads of new markers on the map.
Once you're ready, hover over the map to find the Jagged Peaks biome. Each world is randomized, so it won't be in the same place between saves. Spot it on the map screen, stick a pin down for good measure, and follow your compass to land in the landscape.
From the Jagged Peaks, you want to look for these prehistoric-looking birds roaming around. They're typically in packs of three or four, so listen out for their chirps. Once you find the Big Beak, just get close and tap the button prompt to swap from your current ride to the Minecraft Legends bird mount.
To unlock and ride the beetle mount, you just need to approach one of them until you're close enough to see the "Swap mounts" command appear beside them. Hold the indicated button and you'll hop from your current mount to the new one.
How to get your old mount back in Minecraft Legends
You can find any old mounts back at the centre hub world or a friendly village. Just teleport back and they should spawn in with you.
If you like to change more frequently, use the Rally command to have your them all follow along like mobs. That way you can switch between them whenever you like.
What does the bird mount do in Minecraft Legends?
The Minecraft Legends bird mount uses its wings to give you a little bit more air time with each jump. Just kept the jump button pressed down as you launch from a high place, and you'll slowly glide. It's a great way to get one of the game's many achievements.
