Genshin Impact fans have a lot of great content to look forward to. We finally got a look at the upcoming content in the Genshin Impact 3.8 Livestream, and there's a lot to go over. Most importantly, we finally got a sneak peek at the brand-new Fontaine region and some of its mechanics.

Fontaine will release in Genshin Impact version 4.0, but Genshin Impact patch 3.8 has its own surprises. Most importantly, Eula fans can rejoice as she finally gets a rerun after more than two years. While there are no new characters, we're getting different game modes, TCG additions, and a brand-new summer event to play. Genshin Impact 3.8 release time countdown

Genshin Impact Version 3.8 is set to have a release date of Wednesday, 5 July 2023 at 4 am (BST). Due to slight time zone differences, this might result in different dates for other regions. For example, it will release on 4 July at 10pm in the US.

• Australia: Wednesday 5th July, 1pm (AEST)
• Japan: Wednesday 5th July, 11pm (JST)
• Europe: Wednesday 5th July, 4am (CEST)
• UK: Wednesday 5th July, 3am (BST)

These are all approximations and the time can be delayed a bit depending on how long the maintenance period lasts.

Genshin Impact 3.8 Banners (Eula Rerun)

The wait is finally over, and Eula fans can rejoice. After more than 500 days, Eula is finally getting her long-awaited rerun in Genshin Impact 3.8. Her banner will run alongside Klee's in the first phase of the patch.

The second half brings us Sanganomiya Kokomi's rerun alongside the first rerun for the Wanderer. Kokomi is a powerful support character, and Wanderer is one of the most unique Anemo characters who can fly across the map.

Genshin Impact 3.8 Fontaine teaser

Fontaine is the country of justice ruled by the Hydro Archon. After multiple events and characters alluding to it, we finally got a look at the capital city of Fontaine. We get a short tour of the city and its underground sewage system alongside what appears to be a young patrol officer for the region. It's likely that we will get to play as this character once Fontaine unlocks.

It's a well-developed city with advanced infrastructure and large buildings. The region itself appears to be full of mountains and clear blue lakes, which leads us to one of the most exciting aspects of this reveal.

The teaser showed off the Traveler's ability to dive and swim underwater. This means that a lot of the exploration in Fontaine will be based on underwater puzzles. Moreover, you even have the ability to aim and perform special charged attacks underwater. We can't wait to see how this impacts the rest of the game.

Genshin Impact 3.8 new outfits for Kaeya and Klee

Great news for Kaeya fans and some alright news for fans of Klee. First of all, the Genshin Impact 3.8 Livestream confirmed that both characters will be getting new skins.

Klee will be getting a little Witch-style skin titled Blossoming Starlight, where she gets a brand-new backpack and a large pointy hat. Unfortunately, for some, this skin will only be available in the game shop for the cost of 1,350 Genesis Crystals during the initial release period. Afterwards, the price will revert to 1,680 Genesis.

On the other hand, Kaeya fans can rejoice as his new Sailwind Shadow skin will be available for free in one of the new events. It will be attached to the flagship event of Genshin Impact 3.8, and we'll be going over that in the next section.

However, the good news for Kaeya doesn't end there.

New Hangout event for Kaeya

Kaeya will also receive a new hangout event questline for you to interact and spend time with him. Moreover, there will be an improvement where you can go over the checkpoints after completing the final quest in a hangout.

New Summer area Bottleland

If you got tired of visiting the Golden Apple Archipelago every summer, there's some good news for you. The Genshin Impact summer event scheduled for patch 3.8 will be held in a completely new area inside Sumeru.

Similar to the Golden Apple Archipelago, the Bottleland will be a secret area inside a bottle that Klee's mother, Alice, created for her. Explore the new limited-time map, complete the story quests, and participate in various mini-games.

The four confirmed mini-games are as follows:

• Spino Blaster: Fire various Hydro cannonballs at an assortment of balloons to clear out the field as quickly as possible.
• Sojourns of the Barking Fox: Players must use the new barking fox gadget to clear time trial quests and acquire coins.
• Dance of Flashing Thought: Defeat enemies in the given time limit inside a special Domain with a theatre-esque theme with various new buffs.
• Bing-Bang Finchball: Launch Finchballs in a table top game where your goal is to have it land in the high scoring zones.

The event rewards include lots of items such as Primogems, Mora, upgrade materials and, notably, the new Kaeya skin. Furthermore, you can also get a copy of Layla from the event.

Genshin Impact 3.8 other events

Besides the flagship event, we will get a couple of reruns and minor events in Genshin Impact 3.8.

Perilous Expedition

This will be a combat-focused event where you need to clear five different domains and survive three rounds of combat in each.

Adventurer's Trials Rerun

Adventuer's Trials was a fun game mode where you'd have to complete a bunch of mini-games in a certain order daily. The event will be rerun, and maybe we'll see the addition of some new mini-games.

Shared Sight

Use the inscribed mirror gadget to find various species of animals. You will be given quests to capture specific animals to get the rewards.

Overflowing Mastery

During this event, you can get double the amount of Talent Books from all Domains. Make sure to take advantage of this opportunity, save up some Resin, and stack up on Talent Books quickly.

The Forge Realm's Temper - Endless Realm

This is a special TCG game mode that was revealed in the Genshin Impact 3.8 Livestream. You will have to face an endless swarm of enemies and defeat as many as you can within a fixed number of rounds.

New TCG additions

The last patch introduced a massive number of cards, but we're getting even more. We get three new additions to the TCG roster in Genshin Impact 3.8. These cards are Candace, Yanfei, and Kazuha.

Other livestream announcements

There are a bunch of small events, releases and optimisations coming. They are as follows:

• HoyoFest 2023 was announced for Genshin Impact 3.8
• A new Genshin Impact OST album, the Shimmering Voyage Volume 3, will be released.
• Improvements to quest maps that allow you to check the floor level of the marker.
• Daily Commissions markers will immediately swap to the next upon completion
• Better use of red dots and markers for tracking on the map
