The Dawning Event Start Time
Destiny 2 has always managed to spread the Christmas cheer with its staple winter event known as the Dawning. Although the event has changed massively over the years, it's still fun nevertheless. Surprisingly, we've not received specific dates this year with respect to the events in Destiny 2. However, we can make an educated guess or two based on previous calendars. We are continuing to update this page as more information is released.
14 December 2021 -
[5pm] - The Dawning Event has returned to Destiny 2. Here's the new trailer and everything you need to know:
"This is the perfect time of year to show our new Eliksni and Cabal friends that our life is not just struggle and strife. Meet Eva Levante in the Tower and earn Dawning Spirit by completing festive missions, baking toasty treats, and exchanging gifts. There are new rewards to unwrap and Stasis-infused snowballs to throw!"
[9am] - The Dawning returns today! And we should also have another brand new quest to complete. We've got all the details you need right here, to help you with the Pigeon Provides Quest.
13 December 2021 -
We managed to miss this on the bottom of last week's 'This Week At Bungie' blog post, but The Dawning 2021 event has been confirmed for this week. Writing on the blog, Bungie said:
"It’s been an exciting week but we still have more to come. The Dawning will go live next week so get ready to welcome our favorite space grandma back to the Tower for more tasty treats. Tower weather services are reporting that snow is in the forecast."
This not only means we can expect to see The Dawning Event start on 14 December 2021, but also, we can expect to see Eva Levante and her Recipes List return for another batch of cookie baking. The event is expected to have a start time in line with the Destiny 2 Weekly Reset, so you can expect The Dawning to start at 5pm GMT.
9 December 2021 -
While we've not had any news yet, tonight is when the weekly blog post is due, meaning we'll likely get some new information. We'll keep you posted once we know more.
6 December 2021 -
We had zero info about the next Dawning event during the last 'This Week At Bungie' blog post. But with the 30th Anniversary DLC Pack set to release this week, we're hoping we get some news and maybe a new roadmap later this week during the next blog post. More to follow later this week.
2 December 2021 -
There’s a new This Week At Bungie blog post coming tonight, and whilst we would expect this to be dominated by news relating to next weeks 30th Anniversary DLC Pack, we suspect we’ll also get some sort of confirmation on the Destiny 2 Dawning event coming this year, or at least a small teaser of some sorts. Maybe a confirmed release date, or possibly a look at some frosty new armor. Stay tuned for more info in the coming hours.
22 November 2021 -
We're not sure we really want to run around baking all sorts of Cookies for Eva Levante and the members of the Vanguard this year. But given how these Christmas events normally go, it seems a forgone conclusion we'll be whipping up a fresh batch of cookies once again. With that in mind, you'll end up needing to stockpile various and stocking up on all sorts of items like Vex Milk, Taken Butter and more. With that in mind, it might be handy to know the best farming locations in Destiny 2 for Vex, Fallen, Hive, Cabal, Taken and Scorn; follow the links to learn more, we suspect it'll come in handy for completing these recipes.
Destiny 2 The Dawning 2021 Start Date
As mentioned before, Destiny 2's roadmap was somewhat vague this year. Given what we saw last year, there's a high chance that we'll be stepping into The Dawning sometime around December 14th. It should run until January 4th or 5th.
There is a high chance that the event might run a bit longer than expected since the current season is longer than the previous seasons. We're having to wait until 22 February 2022 for The Witch Queen Expansion and Season 16. Plus, maybe Bungie will want a small gap in between the Bungie 30th Anniversary Celebrations which are slated to arrive on 7 December 2021.
All this is speculation for now, but we'll update the dates whenever we have more information.
Will Eva Levante return with her Cookie Recipes?
There's a high chance that we'll be seeing Eva Levante return with her amazing (debatable) cookie recipes.
During The Dawning, Eva Levante brings her baking supplies and Holiday Oven for all players to use and create holiday gifts that can be given to all vendors across the system. To create these gifts, players have to defeat various enemies in unique ways to earn materials and use Eva's Holiday Oven 2.0 to combine them into baked gifts.
You'll find a complete Destiny 2 Recipes and Ingredients List on the link, although keep in mind this is from last year, and there could be some changes when The Dawning 2021 event begins.
Destiny 2 The Dawning 2021 Armor and Rewards
There's a high chance that we'll be seeing a brand new range of rewards during The Dawning in Destiny 2.
Get ready for new sparrows, ships, weapons and more, there's a lot to expect from Bungie with respect to the event.
Moreover, I really hope that they bring back the event specific armor this year as well. I'm pretty sure there are a lot of players who haven't been able to get their hands on the past armor set. And since we've received an update that allows us to customize our armor the way we want to, I would love to get my hands on the entire set before delving into a bit of Armor Synthesis (the name given to Destiny 2's transmog system).
That's all we know about Destiny 2: The Dawning. Here's to hoping that it will be as exciting as it was the last time around.
All said and done, Bungie's 30th anniversary is on the cards this year so it's really difficult to speculate what's going to happen and what isn't.
Stay frosty Guardian!
