How To Unlock All Characters In Pokémon Unite: What You Need To Buy Licenses

Pokémon Unite Licenses can be purchased in two ways; by using Aeos Coins earned by completing challenges, missions, events, and winning matches, or Aeos Gems, the game's premium currency bought directly using your own money.

Where To Obtain Licenses In Pokémon Unite

To buy licenses within Pokémon Unite, you'll find them available at the Unite Battle Committee (UBC). Once unlocked, players can now use that Pokémon all the time.

How To Get A Free License For New Pokémon Unite Players

The first time you load up Pokémon Unite, you'll be given one free license at the start to choose from. Sadly, this doesn't extend to every available Pokémon, but you can choose between one of five options.

  • Charizard
  • Eldegoss
  • Pikachu
  • Snorlax
  • Talonflame

How Can I Get More Free Pokémon Unite Licenses?

This is easy, there are a few ways to get your hands on some free Pokémon Unite Licenses other than through picking your "starter" Pokémon above.

You can also unlock Slowbro and Venusaur simply be increasing your Trainer Level - play battles and complete challenges to level up. Slowbro unlocks at level two, and Venusaur at level five.

You can also unlock Crustle for free by completing the seven Beginner Challenges this month.

Finally, you can unlock Alolan Ninetails, Cinderace, and Greninja as a part of your 14-Day Welcome Gifts. Simply play the game for two, eight, and 14 days respectively to unlock these Pokémon Unite Licenses. If you can't wait that long, you can always purchase them from the Unite Battle Committee shop.

Upcoming Pokémon Unite Characters

Pokémon Unite is currently releasing new characters every few weeks. The first post-release character was Gardevoir, with Blissey releasing soon after. More are set to arrive over time as well. Here are all the new Pokémon Unite characters that have been confirmed, teased, or leaked:

Any Pokémon Unite character not bolded on the list above is currently unconfirmed and should be taken with a grain of salt. Dataminers sometimes uncover move data for unannounced Pokémon, and while this is a good indication of what's to come, as the absence of Clefable has proven in the past, plans can change and Pokémon can get canceled. It happens more than you think in these types of games.
