Monster Hunter Rise Barioth Weaknesses

The Barioth, like most things, isn't a big fan of fire, making flame-based weapons a priority.

Combined with the targeting of weak spots like its Thorns, you'll deal significantly more damage. In fact, the only element that comes close is thunder, although there's some sizeable drop-off when attacking some areas.

If you break down the spikes on its front legs, you'll find it'll struggle to keep its balance on the ice.

Ailments

The Barioth is weaker to Fireblight and Blast. While the first will deal damage over time, the latter will make it susceptible to explosives.

Use any explosives you can find, particularly when the monster is downed or stunned.

Tips For Slaying the Barioth in MH Rise

The Barioth has some attacks that make it absolutely lethal:

  • As we mentioned before, take the spikes off of its front legs to make it easier to deal with on ice.
  • Keep wirebug dodges available, as the Barioth can move quickly and jump sizeable distances.
  • Leave the blades at home, it's hammer time – the Barioth is weaker to blunt weapons.
  • If you get hit with frost attacks, you'll find yourself suffering from Frostblight, preventing fast movement. Use Nullberries to negate it.
