How to place items in Starfield

In most games, when people take or move their items, they usually have a fixed position or respawn after such interactions. But in Starfield, this isn't exactly the case. If you move and place an item in a new location, that item actually stays there. This certainly makes playing Starfield feel more realistic.

Then when it comes to placing items, you simply let go of the button you're pressing to drop the item. These controls won't add your item to your inventory which makes it quite convenient to move things around in-game.

Remember that not all items can be picked up. Be sure to check if your encountered item can be interacted with. While object interaction is a major feature, it still has its limits.

How to throw items in Starfield

Besides learning how to pick up, move, and place items, you can also throw items if you don't feel like walking around to place them. This mainly helps you to distract enemies when you need to sneak around, set up traps, and even solve puzzles you encounter in Starfield.

To throw items in Starfield, simply click the "R" key for PC and "X" for controller. This will make your character throw the held item. The effect and distance of your throw are influenced by the planet you're currently on though.
