The Modern Warfare 3 campaign is one of three pillars appearing in the next Call of Duty title. Modern Warfare 3 is the next instalment of the shooter franchise and is a direct sequel to 2022's Modern Warfare 2, marking the sixth Modern Warfare title.

As it's a sequel, there are plenty of characters making their return alongside an iconic villain looking to stop Task Force 141 in its tracks. As with all new Call of Duty campaigns, the Modern Warfare 3 mission list is bound to contain plenty of blockbuster moments

Thanks to a recent reveal trailer, eagle-eyed fans were quick to spot various points of interest from the iconic Verdansk map in short gameplay clips.

In addition to Verdansk, these are the other locations featuring in the campaign:

Modern Warfare 3 campaign missions

Operation 627

So far, we've seen one campaign mission known as Operation 627. The mission sees two groups of elite military soldiers breaching into Verdansk prison to rescue a prisoner.

Hijack

Hijacked picks up from where the Modern Warfare 2 campaign left off. A character is assembling a 3D-printed pistol on a flight after receiving the infamous "No Russian" text message.

This particular mission sees you taking control of the terrorist looking to take control of the plane. The mission aims to force blame onto Task Force 141 and Farah's army.

Aside from Makarov appearing as the main antagonist alongside Captain Price, very little is known about the Modern Warfare 3 campaign storyline. However, Gaz actor Elliot Knight may have let slip some of the events that take place.

Knight stated "2 sad deaths and 1 good death" will take place in the Modern Warfare 3 campaign. We'll have to wait until the full release to see what happens.
