Is Gotham Knights crossplay? It's a good question. The new DC Comics game is almost here, and fans want to know whether you can play with friends. With four members of the Bat-family available to play, co-op play is at the core of Gotham Knights, so it's time to get to the bottom of whether or not you can play with your pals regardless of platform.

In this Gotham Knights crossplay guide, we'll look at whether you can play co-op multiplayer with friends on other platforms. It's becoming increasingly common in new releases after the success of Fortnite, so does Gotham Knights employ it as well?

Elsewhere, we've got plenty of other Gotham Knights guides to check out. Read up on whether the game is available on Game Pass, as well as whether it's coming to PS4 or Xbox One. We've also got a list of all the voice actors in the game, to see whether you recognise any of the cast!

Is there crossplay in Gotham Knights?

Unfortunately, Gotham Knights does not contain any form of crossplay. It's official as per the game's website, which confirms that players across different console families won't be able to link up together.

This will no doubt come as bad news to Gotham Knights players who were excited to team up with friends on different consoles. The game operates with two-player co-op, where you and one other player can control any of the four playable characters.

However, it seems that at launch, Gotham Knights players will only be able to play with people on the same platform as them. As such, PC players can only play with other PC owners, PS5 players with other PS5 players, and so on.

Equally, since the PS4 and Xbox One versions of Gotham Knights were cancelled, there's no way to utilise cross-generation gameplay in the matchmaking.

Will crossplay be added in Gotham Knights?

As of right now, it doesn't seem like crossplay will arrive in Gotham Knights at any time in the near future. On the official game FAQ, it says that "Cross-play support is not planned at this time."

While that doesn't explicitly rule out the potential for crossplay to arrive in a patch down the line, the lack of any statement hinting at that scenario makes it very unlikely. It's hard to get the console kings to play nice, and Gotham Knights looks to be a victim of that.

There's a good chance that if you want to play Gotham Knights in co-op, you'll need to find a friend with the game on the same platform as you. Otherwise, matchmaking of that kind simply won't be possible. It's unfortunate, but don't expect the situation to change any time soon.
