Is Gotham Knights open world?

If you're looking forward to the game and wondering if Gotham Knights is open world, this is everything we know right now. As expected, Gotham is a pretty huge city but the inclusion of multiplayer components means the team have to change the way they approach traversal and the world itself.

Is Gotham Knights open world?

Gotham Knights is open world and, according to an interview from Game Informer with the game's director and executive producer:

"For sure it’s the biggest version of Gotham that has been represented in video games. The most important thing for us is its density and verticality. It has a lot of layers. The Batcycle is the long-range mode of transportation."

We don't yet have the exact size of the map but we know it's pretty huge and needs to make room for multiple other players alongside you. We should see a little more soon.

Is Gotham Knights multiplayer?

Gotham Knights is launching with multiplayer modes and they will be an important component in the game's design. The city will have tonnes of activities to do around the city. You can do a central story or just explore, doing side objectives.

We are due to see more information on the game over the coming months. That being said, it is designed to play alongside four others so you should try and grab some friends willing to play with you.

How long is Gotham Knights?

As of right now, we don't have a solid idea of how long the game will take to beat. It seems likely that the game will have a story you can beat in twenty hours, with tens of hours of side content to take on with your friends.

As well as all of this, you can tackle the game with different heroes, giving you a reason to play over it again. As is the case with all big multiplayer games, your playtime will vary majorly on who you play with and how much you want to complete.

Gotham Knights release date

Gotham Knights is officially launching on October 25, 2022. It will not be launching on Xbox One, PS4, or Nintendo Switch. It seems the game needs pretty decent hardware to run and the slightly less powerful consoles may hold it back more than it will help.
