The launch of a new Call of Duty title guarantees new additions to the weapon arsenal and as attention turns toward the launch of Modern Warfare 2, many are wondering what Infinity Ward has in store. Thanks to a wave of leaks, intel on Field Upgrades and Killstreaks is out in the open in addition to the return of the M4 assault rifle and the AX-50 sniper.

At launch, mastering the weapon arsenal is a key ingredient to achieving success in the early days of multiplayer and with so many guns to choose from, it's difficult to determine which weapons stand out from the rest of the pack.

Is The STG A3 in Modern Warfare 2?

Following recent leaks from notable Call of Duty dataminer "Reality," the STG A3 will feature in the Modern Warfare 2 arsenal. Like several other weapons, a string for this particular gun was found within the files of Warzone Mobile.

It's unclear if the STG A3 will slot into the assault rifle or SMG category so be sure to check back soon to find out more about this new addition.

For many, the STG name will be a familiar one. In a number of titles, the STG 44 is a powerful assault rifle combining a fast rate of fire and high levels of stability.

Numerous leaks suggest the Modern Warfare 2 beta will take place in September much to the excitement of players. Typically, the beta offers a small slice of content that will appear in the full build of the game launching in October.

As one of the new additions to the Call of Duty arsenal, there's every chance the STG A3 could feature in the beta so Infinity Ward can gather valuable data to perform any buffs and nerfs so the game launches in a somewhat balanced state.

Whether the STG A3 is an AR or SMG, the Gunsmith will enable players to fine-tune their attachment combination thanks to the arrival of weapon tuning. For example, an attachment that improves recoil but impacts mobility can be adjusted for maximum mobility at a cost of high recoil. This creates even more ways for players to create the best loadout to suit
