While some GTA Online players are already looking forward to GTA 6’s eventual arrival, others are still trying to enjoy everything that Los Santos has to offer.

For those returning to the game for the first time in a few years, this can mean grinding up money by blasting through heists and Nightclub sales missions with reckless abandon, but for others, it seems to involve some rather hardcore roleplaying.

This is certainly the case for one player on Reddit, who has elected to have their character give up getting behind the wheel of any cars after they failed an online driving theory test available online in the game.

Have you ever tried out Los Santos’ public transport?

Their strange declaration is the subject of a recent thread in the GTA Online subreddit which began with a post by the player in question, user MotorDesigner, who shared some images of their answers to the short quiz on the San Andreas DMV’s website, plus the results screen, which informed them that they’d failed in rather rude terms, captioning these: “I took the San Andreas driver’s licence test. I failed. Now I'm forced to use the bus in missions.”

They followed up this post by attempting to arrange a lift from one of their fellow players, asking: “Can someone give me a ride to my bunker? It's in Paleto Bay but don't worry, I'll cover the fuel cost.”, though, unfortunately, none of them seemed up for it, with user ShaunVdV1986 advising the poor player to “call a taxi.”

This simple instruction led to a long conversation during which MotorDesigner outlined their ineligibility for almost every means of transport in the game that wouldn’t require them to drive a car, with taxis, helicopters and even the idea of stealing a car being shot down.

Thankfully, user 2Gay2DriveStraight was able to offer a possible solution which wasn’t immediately rejected, revealing: “I actually use the metro in this game and it's not that bad. Really easy to defend yourself against griefers (unless you're waiting for a train) because you're in a moving vehicle that can't be blown up, and you can use large weapons.”

Meanwhile, a number of users were shocked by some of the more outrageous answers available in the multiple choice theory test, with MechaMouse musing: “I love (that you can answer the question) ‘who has the right of way when four cars approach a four way stop?’ (with) ‘I do’.” and Gaming-Atlas joking: “This test really explains the NPC traffic.”

Regardless of whether you’re considering using the metro as a getaway vehicle for your next heist, make sure to follow us for more GTA Online and GTA 6 updates as new vehicles and more arrive.
