Final Fantasy XIV isn’t just a great MMORPG but an amazing Final Fantasy game, managing to tell a compelling story across many expansions while keeping all of the addictive elements from these multiplayer games.

Every update and expansion has improved the game every time, which is why a lot of fans are excited for Final Fantasy XIV patch 5.5 and the possible improvements that could come from it.

Not to mention how it might play into the games next big expansion coming later this year, Final Fantasy XIV: Endwalker.

FFXIV 5.5 Release Date

The name of the FFXIV 5.5 update has been revealed as 'Death Unto Dawn'.

Square Enix has so far only revealed a precise release date for the first part of Final Fantasy XIV 5.5, which will be coming out on April 13.

Part 2 of Patch 5.5 has a tentative release date of "late May" but we don't know precisely how 'late' this will be.

FFXIV 5.55 Maintenance

In order for the developers to implement FFXIV Patch 5.5, they will be performing maintenance across all Worlds at the times stated below.

During these times, Final Fantasy XIV will be unavailable.

For those in the UK, we should expect to see maintenance start and finish at the following times: April 13 at 2am until 11am (BST)

If you’re living in a PDT time zone, server maintenance will begin on April 12 at 6pm and finish April 13 at 2am.

In addition to the above maintenance, Square Enix has also confirmed that the Home World Transfer Service will be suspended 30 minutes before maintenance begins, and will be unavailable until maintenance has ended.

Patch 5.5 Leaks And Official News

The first half of the Final Fantasy XIV 5.5 update will continue the Shadowbringers storyline with a new dungeon called Pagl’than for players to explore with their friends.

A new battlefield called Zandor will also be available in Final Fantasy XIV 5.5, as part of the Save The Queen Relic quest.

It’s not yet known what will happen in the second update, though it was confirmed that the Shadowbringers storyline will end when this patch hits.

We’re sure the second part will introduce its fair share of new features as well but those currently remain a mystery, aside from more of that story Final Fantasy fans have devoured.
