Final Fantasy XIV fans have been given some new information today regarding the release of Final Fantasy XIV Patch 5.5 from the latest Letter from the Producer broadcast.

The livestream with Producer/Director Naoki Yoshida is still ongoing so we're adding details as they're revealed.

The most important details revealed so far includes a rough release date for Patch 5.5 Part 2, which is due to arrive "Late May".

This was announced alongside a new trailer, which you can watch just below.

As well as the new trailer, Producer/Director Naoki Yoshida also revealed the following details:

• New Main Scenario Quests, split between parts 1 and 2.
• New Instanced Dungeon - Paglth'an
• New Chronicles of a New Era Quests - The Final chapter of the Sorrow of Werlyt
• Diamond Weapon is coming to the game.
