Destiny 2's Season of the Splicer is here, and alongside Override, a new Expunge activity has been added as of the most recent reset.
A new mission that's repeatable a la Presage, there's no exotic tied to it (at least that we know of so far), but it's an awful lot of fun to attempt.
Here's all we know so far.
Destiny 2 Expunge Guide
How To Unlock
To be able to take part in the mission, you'll have to finish a weekly Override mission from the H.E.L.M. Servitor.
Once complete, open the chest at the end (be sure to add a Key Code to your gauntlet) and go back to the Servitor.
It'll send you to the Tangled Shore for a fresh mission - Expunge.
Before You Start
The mission has a pretty manageable power level requirement of 1290, but it does have a few Barrier Champions - so pack something that can be modded to punch through them.
You'll also want to upgrade your Splicer Gauntlet with the following upgrades:
- Codestrider
- Signal Booster
- Wire Walker
Admittedly these aren't mandatory, but since there's a challenge for beating Expunge in under 10 minutes, everything you can do to prepare yourself will help.
Finally, we'd suggest attempting with other players, just to make things simpler.
Expunge Guide
Expect plenty of platforming amidst the combat, and those upgrades to your Gauntlet will help no end, adding new platforms to help you through.
As for enemy encounters, a grenade launcher is a smart choice, as is a scout rifle, with the former being ideal for burning enemies and crowd-control and the latter being a great anti-barrier option.
Save your Super for the giant Minotaur.
