Clash of Clans Anniversary Update 2022 Release Date
Clash of Clans originally launched on August 2, 2012. Being almost ten years old, it has gone through tonnes of change and updates. Luckily, the event tends to happen around the same time so we have a pretty good guess. It seems like the even will go live at some point over the next week, in time for the anniversary.
This all being said, we don't have an official confirmation of anything just yet. They have announced it will happen over on the Twitter page with a promotional video but they haven't given a release date or time just yet. Hopefully, something new will come out soon to give a proper date.
The video teases a retro feel, with a meta-narrative about one of the game's characters getting stuck inside an arcade cabinet. It is unsure right now if that's just a fun easter egg or pointing at some specific changes. We'll update you right here if anything changes.
What Happens at the Clash of Clans Anniversary?
Generally, there are a handful of small gameplay changes that happen during the event. As well as getting a nice gem boost to increase productivity in buildings or build them faster, special offers will go live, making the game's purchasable items cheaper.
Alongside this, you can expect tonnes of challenges to earn yourself some nice coins and items. This should come along with a statue and some form of anniversary celebration item. Finally, we may also see a Clan Capital update like we did for the 2021 anniversary.
As is the case for almost all updates, we can expect some minor aesthetic changes, alongside some brand new obstacles. It is unsure what these obstacles will be just yet but they will probably take after the promo video. It's filled with lights, fireworks and arcade machines. Maybe it will have an electric theme? We'll have to wait just a few more days to find out.
