How to Use Grappling Hook in Battlefield 2042

Battlefield 2042 is set to have some of the biggest maps in the franchise’s history, with both original maps made for this game’s futuristic setting and some old ones for Battlefield Portal, so players will want to make the most out of the expansive areas by using the Grappling Hook in Battlefield 2042.

Like the Wingsuit and Recon Drone, the Battlefield 2042 Grappling Hook can only be used by one Specialist, this one being Webster Mackay, so players will have to choose this character if they want to swing around the place like it’s no one’s business, after picking a suitable grappling point of course.

Once you’ve chosen Webster Mackay, all players have to do is press left on the d-pad or 3 on keyboard, find a suitable place to throw the Grappling Hook, and press the shooting trigger.

It’s a fairly simple process, with the real obstacle being the positioning and throwing of the Grappling Hook in Battlefield 2042, as players will want to try their best to look cool or ridiculous.

While this isn’t exactly Marvel’s Spider-Man in terms of controls, this is a solid enough way to travel through the game’s maps and maybe even kill some enemies in creative ways so get cracking and remember what to do.

If you miss your grapple location, you'll be able to try again after a short reload animation, but if you hit you'll need to wait for the whole cooldown. Don't worry though - Webster has a seemingly infinite supply of hooks.

Battlefield 2042 is coming to the PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and PC on November 19 after getting delayed from its initial October release.
