The Judgment 2 rumors were true. A day ahead of RGG Studios’ Judgment Day, the Japanese PSN leaked the existence of Judgment 2, officially called Lost Judgment. Since then, it's been formally confirmed and SEGA's slowly building up anticipation for this upcoming Yakuza spin-off. As such, here's everything we know so far.

Lost Judgment - Release Date

Lost Judgment releases in September 2021. Those who purchase the Digital Deluxe Edition will get early access to the game on September 21, but otherwise, it'll launch on September 24 as a worldwide release. That arrives on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, and Xbox One.

Lost Judgment - Demo

Lost Judgment's getting a demo on September 10th, 2021. Presently, that's only been confirmed for Japan and it'll arrive on PS4 and PS5. If there's a Western release, we'll be sure to keep you updated.

Lost Judgment - Editions

Outside your standard physical and digital copies, Lost Judgment will have a Digital Deluxe Edition for $69.99. That offers a "Detective Essentials Pack" and "School Stories Expansion Pack". The former contains items, whereas the latter includes school club activity items.

If you opt for the Digital Ultimate Edition at $89.99, you'll get both of those alongside the Kamurocho and Ijincho Story Expansion Pack add-on.

Lost Judgment - Story Details

It'll once again feature detective Takayuki Yagami, who'll be investigating another mysterious murder mystery - one considered to be an impossible crime - with ex-yakuza partner Masaharu Kaito. Sega has confirmed we'll be exploring Kamurocho once more, alongside Yokohama, the latter having served as the primary setting for Yakuza: Like a Dragon.

Lost Judgment - Gameplay Changes

During the Judgment Day stream, Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio outlined details. There's greater focus on the detective elements, including improved chasing and tailing sequences, alongside stealth options and platforming sections. Yagami's gained some new fighting abilities, namely a third fighting style called Snake, which focuses on counterattacks.

He can ride around town with a skateboard now, and Lost Judgment also features a playable Master System, emulating games like Alex Kidd in Miracle World and Penguin Land. As part of Sony's July State Of Play Presentation, a new gameplay video was also released showcasing new minigames, which we've included below.
