Yakuza Creators Formally Reveal Lost Judgment, Launches Worldwide This September

It's been a slow countdown to what we all knew was inevitable. Following on from Judgment Remastered's launch last month, Sega and developers Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio had unveiled a countdown website, with a clock ticking until May 7th, though it leaked a day early on Japanese PSN.

Now, that countdown is up and they've formally lifted the lid on Lost Judgment. This time around, we'll be exploring both Kamurocho and Yokohama, playing as private detective Takayuki Yagami. He'll joined by ex-yakuza partner Masaharu Kaito, as the two investigate an impossible murder.

Yakuza Creators Formally Reveal Lost Judgment, Launches Worldwide This September

As part of their extended "Judgment Day" stream, Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio confirmed this will launch on PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, and Xbox One. Surprisingly, considering it's remastered predecessor got a PC release, that hasn't been confirmed (yet) for this sequel.

During the stream, they also outlined several gameplay improvements, including more detective elements, improved chasing and tailing sequences, alongside stealth options and a few platforming sections. Yagami's also gained a new fighting style called Snake, which focuses mainly on counterattacks.

As for a release date, it's getting a simultaneous worldwide launch on September 24, marking the first time that's happened for any Yakuza game.
