Surprise Valorant Update Brings Fixes to the Competitive Queue


The Valorant Twitter account has posted a surprise update today, which will focus on tightening the competitive queue to ensure fair games of players that are closer in skill rank.

Since the update makes the queue tighter, players should expect the queue to potentially take longer to find a match at times.

"Surprise Competitive update! We just rolled out some tweaks to Ranked queue that should tighten matchmaking skill. Fair warning that you may see a slight increase to queue times." From the PlayValorant Twitter page.

Surprise Valorant Update Brings Fixes to the Competitive Queue

This change comes less than a week after patch 2.09 has rolled out, which included a whole list of Agent updates, map changes, and overall bug fixes.

2.09 saw the introduction of Breeze to the competitive map pool and replication added as a limited-time game mode for two weeks.

The update also comes just a week after Valorant developers are looking into smurfs and how they can create a better player experience.

Riot Games also announced that they will now start recording voice chat to combat the toxicity that can be found in-game especially in competitive games.

The recent changes this past month to Valorant are a good sign for players as it shows the dedication Riot Games has to ensure Valorant succeeds as a competitive game.
