When they’re not creating picture-perfect houses resembling the Love Island villa, having werewolf graduation ceremonies or assembling a family of Keanu Reeves clones, Sims players also love delving deep into the backgrounds of the game’s iconic characters.

For these lore buffs, iconic families like the Goths and Landgraabs bear the same significance as the Lannisters in Game of Thrones, with their long histories and interesting relationships being prime fodder for investigation and analysis.

The latest revelation regarding these storied individuals involves maiden names and has put Sims Reddit on the ropes.

Taking A Look Back At the Young Sims Of Yesteryear

The thread in the subreddit r/thesims discussing this began with a post from user BrandonIsWhoIAm featuring an image of a yearbook from Copperdale High School, which shows a number of legendary Sims as youngsters, captioning it: “Eliza Pancakes and Geoffrey Landgraab’s Maiden Names Have Been Confirmed!”

Reception to this reveal saw a lot of players take shots at notorious rich girl Nancy Landgraab, whose husband’s maiden name of Osteer has now been confirmed in the lore, with user Ewandomon saying: “I like how Geoffrey took Nancy's name. Cashing out on that old money”, with BrandonIsWhoIAm responding to point out that this was also hinted at in the couple’s Sims 3 bio.

Poor Nancy also took flak due to her yearbook photo revealing what she looked like pre-plastic surgery, with user Pure-Rock quipping: “I love what I’m assuming is the pre-nose job Nancy” and Tsjaad_Donderlul sassily adding: “pre-everything job Nancy.”

Eliza Pancakes, whose maiden name was revealed to be Hastings, earned more positive reviews for her appearance, with user Botched_bo saying: “Eliza was adorable”, while TheZombieWearsPrada added: “(her husband) Bob really must’ve done a number on her.”

Other users concentrated their attention on the sims’ yearbook quotes, with MisfortuneInDisguise suggesting: “Bella's quote sounds like a dig at Nancy”, leading OneGoodRib to argue: “I think it's a dig at nobody, it's just a reference to ‘blondes have more fun’.”

Less controversial was Mortimer Goth’s quote, with user nightcounselor saying: “Mortimer's quote is directly from the Addams Family Values movie when Gomez gives Fester love advice. Such a cute Easter egg.”
