Pokémon Legends: Arceus Reveals Hisuian Zorua and Zoroark, Surprising No-One

Speculation has been rife since the Pokémon Company released a found-footage-style trailer from the Hisui region earlier this week, as players have been trying to work out the Pokémon featured in the blurry camerawork. The trailer is the latest in marketing for Pokémon Legends: Arceus, which is due to release early next year.

Snorunt was easily identifiable (including by the cameraperson), but the mysterious Pokémon in the forest was unidentified. Many players theorised that the teasers pointed towards Hisuian Zorua and Zoroark - and they were dead on.

The trailer is an interesting take on marketing from the usually-traditional Pokémon Company. Seemingly inspired by Pokémon Snap and the Blair Witch Project, a second trailer that had been 'restored' has confirmed the designs of Hisuian Zorua and its evolution.

Pokémon information site Serebii has confirmed that the pair will be Normal and Ghost-type monsters, giving them only one weakness. Dark-types (like Unovan Zorua) are your best bet for taking on a Zoroark in the Hisui region, although we don't know if it will be a Noble Pokémon yet.

This unique typing also gives Hisuian Zoroark three immunities; to Fighting, Ghost, and Normal attacks respectively.

If Hisuian Zoroark keeps the Illusion ability that its Unovan form has - which seems likely, judging by the spooky trailer - it could be a really bulky switch-in to bait opponents in your Legends battles. While the game will not have competitive support and official VGC rules will still use Pokémon Sword and Shield, it could prove useful for taking on NPC trainers or battling friends, if that ends up being an option in the game.
