Pokémon Legends: Arceus is the brand new, open-world Pokémon game of January 2022. The game is quite different from that of previous Pokémon titles, taking place in the ancient region of Hisui, employing open-world areas and less gym-battling for Trainers.

There are also going to be new Pokémon, including Hisuian forms, such as Zorua and Zoroark, and new evolutions like Wyrdeer and Ursaluna. This latest and most experimental instalment in the series certainly boasts plenty of spectacular looking 'mons for you to be excited about adding to your Pokédex.

Who do you think you're most excited to catch? In this guide, we list all the new Pokémon and Hisuian forms you can expect to see in Pokémon Legends: Arceus.

Pokémon Legends: Arceus - All New Pokémon

Pokémon Legends: Arceus features a wealth of familiar Pokémon returning to roam the vast region of Hisui, including fan-favourites such as Growlithe, Pikachu, and Eevee. However, in addition to that, a significant portion of the 242 Pokémon in the game are new!

These new Pokémon come in the form of new 'mons entirely, Hisuian forms of familiar Pokémon, and brand-new evolutions of returning Pokémon.

Kleavor, a rocky bug Pokémon, advances towards the camera menacingly.

Kleavor

Kleavor is a Bug and Rock-type Pokémon that evolves from Scyther in the Hisui region using Black Augurite. It is known as the Lord of the Woods and, as you can clearly see, has giant stone axes for hands.

Kleavor is the first Noble Pokémon revealed for Pokémon Legends: Arceus. These are powerful Pokémon protected by Warden trainers that are the bosses you'll encounter throughout the game. They are covered by a yellow shield, indicating their frenzy, that can only be eradicated using balms and battling.

A giant red fish, Basculegion, lurks in a river

Basculegion

Basculegion is a brand-new evolution of Basculin, and it has an interesting evolution mechanic. It feeds on the dead Basculin in its river or stream to grow in power – kind of like Wishiwashi, and is protected by Warden Iscan.

It is a Water and Ghost-type like Jellicent, and it's a big boy, so we expect it to be bulky and slow. Did somebody say Trick Room?

Wyrdeer, a reindeer Pokémon, stands proudly in the grass.

Wyrdeer

Wyrdeer is a new evolution of Stantler, and has adapted to the colder climates of the Hisui region with a thick beard. It's a Normal and Psychic-type, joining only Girafarig and Indeedee as the few Pokémon with this typing. Did we mention that this 'mon is also rideable?

Ursaluna is a rideable Pokémon and evolution of Teddiursa, protected by Warden Calaba of the Pearl Clan, in Pokémon Legends: Arceus.

Ursaluna

Ursaluna is a brand-new evolution of Teddiursa, who has a dual-type of Normal and Ground. One of Ursaluna's most amazing abilities is the fact that they will have their Attack stat increased by 50% whenever inflicted by a Status Effect or Condition.

Additionally, after meeting with Warden Calaba, Ursaluna is unlocked as another rideable Pokémon who can aid you with finding treasure around Hisui. Fun, right?

Enamorus

Enamorus is the brand-new Flying and Fairy-type Pokémon. They're a natural healer, with there being a 30% chance of either Ally being healed from a Status Condition after a turn. In their Therian Forme, they have an even better ability known as Overcoat, which protects them from all Weather Effects and Powder moves.

Pokémon Legends: Arceus - All Hisuian Forms

Hisuian Braviary, a magnificent eagle, hovers on a snowy mountaintop next to a trainer.

Hisuian Braviary

Hisuian Braviary joins the ranks as the first Hisuian form announced for Pokémon Legends: Arceus. The Psychic and Flying-type Pokémon appears in Hisui during the winter. It's much larger than regular Braviary, and can carry trainers in-game, dangling from a trapeze.

Hisuian Growlithe, a dog with a small rocky horn, pads around in the grass.

Hisuian Growlithe & Arcanine

Hisuian Growlithe also joins the ranks, and it is joined by a Hisuian Arcanine form. Its Fire and Rock-typing leaves it incredibly weak to Water-type Pokémon, but its adorable rocky horn more than makes up for this.

Hisuian Voltorb & Electrode

Hisuian Voltorb will be joining other Hisuian forms as the Pokémon notorious for looking just like a Poké Ball. The Pokémon is an electric/steel-type from the Kanto region, and it will eventually evolve into a Hisuian form of Electrode.

Hisuian Zorua and Zoroark look at each other in a dark, snowy, forest.

Hisuian Zorua & Zoroark

Hisuian Zorua and Zoroark were officially revealed in a trailer uploaded to YouTube on October 26, 2021. With a Normal and Ghost dual-typing, the pair look to be strong additions to any squad, but mostly we love the floofy little hair on Zorua and the anime emo look of its evolution.

More Hisuian Forms

While we do not have much information on them or their locations yet, we are aware of a few more Hisuian forms:

  • Hisuian Typhlosion, Decidueye, and Samurott
  • Hisuian Lilligant
  • Hisuian Sneasel and Sneasler
  • Hisuian Avalugg
  • Hisuian Sliggo and Goodra
  • Hisuian Qwilfish and Overqwil
