How to Catch Noble Pokémon in Pokémon Legends: Arceus

Pokémon Legends: Arceus has a lot of differences from the games we know and love, but players are already excited to explore the Hisui region, craft some steampunk Poké Balls, and find out what the game has to offer.

However, there is one type of Pokémon that remains a mystery. A brand new addition to Legends: Arceus, Noble Pokémon, are minibosses of sorts, clad in yellow shields and hiding behind mysterious Wardens - other Trainers to whom you must prove your worth.

Here's everything we know about Legends: Arceus' Noble Pokémon and how to catch them!

What Are Noble Pokémon in Legends: Arceus?

Noble Pokémon are minibosses of the Hisui region, and are large, powerful beasts that need to be battled before they can be captured.

Most Noble Pokémon have a yellow shield when you first encounter them, as they are in a "frenzied" state. You can stun them with your Pokémon, but the most important thing is to throw Balms at them to reduce their shields. Once their shields are low, you can attempt to throw your Poké Ball at them, and this is when the real battle between yourself and the Noble Pokémon begins.

The Balms are crafted, as you need to throw a Balm made of ingredients that the Pokémon likes - for instance Kleavor needs a Forest Balm, although we don't know exactly what that constitutes just yet.

Some of these Noble, protected Pokémon will not have such shields, and instead are quelled and will serve a useful purpose, sometimes after a battle, and sometimes after simply taking a liking to you. Additionally, the Noble Pokémon are guarded by Wardens, trainers who tend to their needs and protect them.

What Are Wardens in Pokémon Legends: Arceus?

Wardens are special trainers who care for the Noble Pokémon. In regular times, they provide offerings of food and protect their land, almost deifying the creatures.

Here are all the Wardens and the Pokémon that they protect:

  • Warden Lian protects Kleavor
  • Warden Mai protects Wyrdeer
  • Warden Iscan protects Basculegion
  • Warden Arezu protects Lilligant
  • Warden Calaba protects Ursaluna
  • Warden Palina protects Arcanine
  • Wrden Ingo protects Sneasler
  • Warden Melli protects Electrode
  • Warden Sabi protects Braviary
  • Warden Gaeric protects Avalugg

How to Catch Noble Kleavor

Noble Kleavor resides in the Obsidian Fieldlands, protected by Warden Lian. The Bug and Rock-type Scyther evolution is evolved from Scizor using Black Augurite. For this battle, you need to stock up on Forest Balms to take out Noble Kleavor's frenzied shield.

How to Catch Noble Lilligant

Protected by Warden Arezu is Noble Lilligant, also known as Lady of the Ridge. It is a Grass/Fighting dual-type that'll dance around you as you engage in battle. Lilligant will be weak to Fire, Flying, Poison, Psychic, Ice and Fairy-types, and when it comes to taking down its shield, you'll need to stock up on Marsh Balms.

How to Catch Noble Braviary

Noble Braviar is protected by Warden Sabi. They're not a Noble that you need to battle with or be fearsome of, but instead a helpful Pokémon, like Wyrdeer and Basculegion.

You'll find that Warden Sabi sends you on a pretty tiresome chase for Braviary's trust, and then you'll have to battle Braviary yourself to unlock them as a rideable Pokémon.

How To Catch Noble Wyrdeer

Noble Wyrdeer resides in the Obsidian Fieldlands, protected by Warden Mai and her adorable Munchlax. Luckily, Wyrdeer takes a liking to you as soon as you meet, and becomes your first rideable Pokémon to help you travel around Hisui.

You will meet Mai's Wyrdeer in Obsidian Fieldlands, but if you need to counter a wild Wyrdeer, it's especially weak to Bug and Rock-type moves.

How to Catch Noble Arcanine

Noble Arcanine, protected by Warden Palina, is definitely the best boss of them all, although it is rather weak to Water-type moves. To take down the Noble Arcanine's shield, you'll need to use plenty of Volcano Balms, and then they'll be returned to their usual non-frenzied self!

How to Catch Noble Avalugg

Noble Avalugg is protected by Warden Gaeric, and has shields that are weak to Snow Balm specifically. This battle also requires precise dodges, and some Fighting or Steel-type moves, as those are Avalugg's biggest weaknesses.

How To Catch Noble Basculegion

Noble Basculegion resides near the sea, protected by Warden Iscan. Ironically, Warden Iscan is scared of Ghost-types. As you can imagine, this sea creature is weak to Fire-type moves and after aiding Iscan with acquiring a Dusclops to make some Basculegion food, you'll be able to ride on the back of them across water.

How to Catch Noble Ursaluna

While we know that Noble Ursaluna is protected by Warden Calaba in Crimson Mirelands, near Solaceon Ruins. Ursaluna is the second Pokémon that you'll unlock as a rideable Pokémon, but only after defeating them in battle.

Calaba very sternly states that she will not let you catch the Pokémon, but you're rewarded for your efforts in battle with your very own bear, who can hunt for treasure.

How to Catch Noble Electrode

The Noble Electrode is an Electric/Grass-type protected by Warden Melli. This 'mon is particularly weak to Poison, Bug, Fire, and Ice-type moves, and will need Mountain Balms to quell its frenzy once you encounter it in the Coronet Highlands.

How to Catch Noble Sneasler

We're aware that Noble Sneasler is protected by Warden Ingo, but sadly, do not have any furthe information on their balm preferences or location. We'll update this space when we have more information!

That's everything we know about Legends Arceus' Noble Pokémon for now, but we'll get more information as we get closer to the game's release. For more on the title, check out our guide to character customisation and which new Pokemon and Hisuian forms can be found!
