Pokemon GO Special Raid Weekend Starts On June 12


Players should get their raid passes ready for June because a Special Raid Weekend will go live in Pokemon GO this weekend.

Pokemon GO's June Special Raid Weekend will start on June 12 at 10 am local time and it will end the next day on June 13 at 8 pm local time. The point of the short event is to give bonuses to players who run raids, or any Pokemon GO players that want to get into raids for some extra bonuses themselves.

Bonuses that players can expect include twice the candy for catching Pokemon, Trainers level 40 and up will have three times the chance to earn XL candy, and raids of all kinds will happen more frequently during the event.

While the Special Raid Weekend is live, there is a handful of five-star and mega raids that players can expect. Those Pokemon GO raids include Regice, Registeel, and Regirock. For the mega raid, Mega Slowbro will be available because of the 'A Very Slow Discovery' event going live.

One-star and three-star raids will also be part of the additional raids, and it will be an additional chance to get a Galarian Slowpoke in Pokemon GO.

How to get raid passes for use in the Pokemon GO Special Raid Weekend

Players will surely need raid passes, remote or not, for the Special Raid Weekend in Pokemon GO. Every player can claim a daily in-person pass, or purchase three remote raid passes at a time.

However, there are some ways to currently earn passes in the game. Every week, players can claim a free box with one pass. During the month of June, completing a research breakthrough will also reward a free remote raid pass. Finally, some special research quests will reward players with passes to use.

Make sure to have raid passes on hand or enough inventory space to claim one before attempting a raid during the Pokemon GO Special Raid Weekend.
