Of the Pokémon in this table, the following have the best damage output per unit of time, making them the top three Pokémon Go attackers irrespective of their typing:

  • Shadow Mewtwo (Psychic)
  • Primal Groudon (Ground)
  • Shadow Regigigas (Normal)

Provided that the Pokémon you're up against in a raid isn't resistant to the typing of each of these powerful Pokémon, any of the Pokémon in the above table, particularly the three highlighted above, will be worth bringing along to fill out your party.

It's worth making yourself familiar with the typing matchups of Pokémon if you're not already aware, before composing a party of attackers.

If you intend to use a given Shadow Pokémon as an attacker, you won't want to purify it. Purifying Shadow Pokémon may improve their CP and amount of HP they have, alongside buffing their stats across the board. However, while a Pokémon has the Shadow status, their attack is increased by 20%, which often makes them the ideal candidate as an attacker.

However, a critical downside of Shadow Pokémon is that their Charged Attack will always be Frustration by default. The only way to change your Shadow Pokémon's Charged Attack without purifying it is to use a Charged TM on the Pokémon, whilst a Team GO Rocket event is ongoing in Pokémon Go that permits the use of TMs on Shadow Pokémon.

Unfortunately, Team GO Rocket events only occur every 3-4 months, so you may have to wait a while until the next one rolls around. The last one occurred at the end of January 2024, so the next takeover likely won't be until sometime during Spring 2024.

That ends our guide about the best Pokémon Go attackers. For more guides like this one on Pokémon Go, check out how to get a Master Ball, or perhaps how to catch a Kecleon. We've also got the counters and weaknesses for Regidrago and Regieleki.
