While we've barely come to terms with the sheer size of Bethesda's intergalactic space RPG Starfield, we already know about the game's first DLC. Read on to keep up to date about the game's first expansion, Starfield Shattered Space!
While gamers can keep the first DLC in mind, there aren't enough hours in the day for us to get to exploring Starfield's 1,000+ planets, completing the hundreds of hours of side quests, and partaking in all the space recreation on offer before it comes. Nonetheless, let's take a look at what we know to be an expansion of the game's main story.

When is the Starfield Shattered Space release date?
For starters, what we know about the Starfield Shattered Space DLC is that exists and will likely make an appearance in early 2024, likely between six and eight months after the game's release.
This is just an estimate based on the timeline of their previous titles, Skyrim and Fallout 4, and when they released the DLCs for those. It makes sense though, as it gives the players a chance to play through the main story and get a general idea of what the game is about.
How to get Starfield Shattered Space
For those eager beavers who purchased the Starfield Premium Edition with all of the trimmings, you will need to do absolutely nothing to get Shattered Space. The sharp eyes among us know this already as the DLC is listed in the Premium Edition's contents and mentions that it will be accessible upon release.
For the rest, Shattered Space is by no means out of reach, at least not in the context of the video game. Regardless of whether you purchased a physical copy of Starfield or a digital one, the DLC will be available for purchase upon release online for you to... well... download.
What is Starfield Shattered Space about?
At the time of writing this, we know very little about Shattered Space aside from one key detail - it will be a story expansion. So one could safely assume that once you *redacted* and *redacted* to finish the game, Shattered Space will add another chapter to the space saga.
The title seems to indicate that something catastrophic has happened to the stability of space and all of our fingers, at least until we know more, are being blamed on you, main character. Perhaps the meddling with the mysterious Artifacts has come back to bite our space backsides? At this stage we can only speculate, but rest assured we will continue to provide updates on this space as soon as we have more concrete information.
