Modern Warfare 3's single-player zombies campaign mixes a lot of new ideas into the Call of Duty zombies formula. It features a sizeable open-world map, zone-based enemy difficulty, and even introduces multiple squads playing on the same map at once. But none of this means the zombies mode is leaving its roots behind; in fact, some fan-favourite aspects are actually making a return!

How to get ray gun in Modern Warfare 3 zombies
The Ray Gun can be acquired at the very start of your run in Modern Warfare 3 zombies. It's available through the returning Mystery Box feature, which besides this, gives you a chance to grab a range of different weapons.
Mystery boxes spawn at random points on the game's map, so even getting to one is just down to chance. Your luck can't end there, because once you open a mystery box, you will receive one of at least nine different weapons. The ones we know of are as follows:
Fortunately, most of the weapons on this list are great picks to have with you in Modern Warfare 3 zombies, so a mystery box will almost always be worth opening. However, if you're focused solely on getting that overpowered ray gun, your only shot is to roll the dice and hope you get lucky.
As of now, this is the only method of obtaining Modern Warfare 3's ray gun that we know of. If there do turn out to be other ways of obtaining the ray gun, we'll update this guide with more information once the full game comes out.
