Is Dead Island 2 multiplayer? That's one question on the minds of zombie-slaying fans looking forward to Dambuster Studios' long-awaited sequel to 2011's Dead Island. Alongside the zombie-slaying action, Dead Island 2 sees you drop into Hell-A in a bid to make it out alive.

With numerous characters to choose from and plenty of undead opposition attempting to halt your progress, the idea of joining forces with other players to increase your chance of survival sounds like a lot of fun.

Is Dead Island 2 multiplayer?

Yes! Dead Island 2 does feature a multiplayer option. When the game launches, you and two friends can work through the main storyline using a combination of characters to maximise your ability to slay any nearby zombies with ease.

However, Dambuster Studios has confirmed the game will not feature any cross-platform play so make sure you're all on the same platform before attempting to smash your way round Hell-A. There's always a chance Dead Island 2 cross-platform play will arrive in the future but for now, multiplayer is fixed for those on the same platform.

Does Dead Island 2 have split screen?

Split-screen gaming is always entertaining when more than one of you want to try and outlast the undead. Unfortunately, the game will not contain a split-screen option meaning you'll either have to take it in turns or utilise separate playthroughs to experience all Dead Island 2 has to offer.
