However, it's unlikely that a modern multiplayer game of this scale wouldn't allow players to play with each other on different platforms. Also, there is another fact that suggests that the game will be cross platform.
As you probably know, the game is going to be released on PC, Xbox, and PlayStation. Usually, when a game is released on both major Microsoft platforms, PC and Xbox, it features cross platform compatibility. However, we can’t say for sure if Dead Island 2 is cross platform or not at this stage.
