Apex Legends - all Conduit abilities

After years of waiting after the initial leaks way back in 2019, Conduit has finally made her way to Apex Legends. She joins the fray on October 31, 2023, as part of the launch of Season 19: Ignite, and now we finally know exactly what her abilities will be.

It's been a long time coming, and so fans are no doubt eager to find out exactly what this electrifying new character can do. In this guide, we'll go through each of Conduit's abilities as well as take a look at where we think she'll end up in the meta. With the scheduled legend changes, as well as a slightly different crafting rotation this time around, the meta is no doubt due to be shaken up a fair bit.

Conduit class

Conduit has been confirmed to be a member of the Support class in Apex Legends. Focusing mainly on shields, her strengths will lie in restoring or even reinforcing her teammates' shield health.

She looks to be an alternate universe version of Wattson if she'd ended up on the Support end of the spectrum instead of falling into the Control class. But the two characters are totally different in the way their kits are deployed during fights, and so we're looking forward to seeing how this brand-new Support legend will play out once Season 19 kicks off.

But let's take a look at her kit in a bit more detail, including her passive, tactical, and ultimate abilities.

Conduit passive ability - Savior's Speed

Conduit's passive ability is quite reminiscent of Bangalore's passive, Double Time. It gives the legend an increased speed boost as they're running, but where Bangalore's is to assist her in evading an attack or repositioning, Conduit's passive, Savior's Speed, will actually work to get her into the fray quicker.

This speedy ability is enabled by her exo-suit's enhanced legs, and she receives a burst of speed when sprinting towards any allies outside of her tactical ability range. It's perfect to catch up to the often overly zealous fragger characters, such as Pathfinder, Octane, and Mad Maggie but is generally quite handy to keep up with her team regardless of the composition.

This passive ability differs from Bangalore's, in the sense it is always activated, much like Mad Maggie's ability to run at full speed with an unholstered shotgun. In a game where movement is so important, it'll no doubt come in clutch when Conduit's team has already engaged in a fight and she's running to catch up.

Conduit tactical ability - Radiant Transfer

Conduit's tactical, Radiant Transfer, will activate her fluorescent yellow halo suit to provide a surge of energy to her teammates, generating temporary shields for both those she's aimed at and herself.

These temporary shields are generated over time, so it's not an instant health boost. But it does regenerate any missing shield capacity from the Evo Armor that's already equipped on teammates. Radiant Transfer is not a 'silver bullet', however.

The shield regeneration can be paused if the receiving player takes damage, and they can also be shot through much in the same way as standard shields. So it isn't akin to the Revenant Reborn ultimate ability, and it doesn't make players invincible when on the receiving end of Conduit's tactical. But it's sure to drastically increase the survivability of her team.

Conduit Ultimate ability - Energy Barricade

Sometimes a good defence needs a little offence, and that's exactly where Conduit's ultimate ability comes into play. Energy Barricade launches several electronic nodes across an area that act as connected shield-jamming devices, which will damage and slow enemies caught in the trap.

These nodes are arranged in a line formation, which makes them perfect for crowd control and locking down an area. They can trap a bunch of enemies who are trying to escape or can halt an enemy attack and force them to take another route. The area that Energy Barricade covers is surprisingly large, and so Conduit's ult can take up a fair amount of space in the combat area if placed strategically.

We're really looking forward to seeing some sweaty end-circles with this ultimate, as it will no doubt be a make-or-break situation regardless of the outcome. For someone placed firmly in the Support class, it's interesting that Conduit's ultimate is a pretty offensive ability.

Where will Conduit sit in the meta for Season 19?

As soon as we get an idea on how Conduit plays, we won't know exactly where she'll sit. There will, of course, be some players who immediately paint her with the 'OP' brush, and this is par for the course when it comes to new legends being added to the roster.

It will depend on how people play Conduit, and how they make use of her kit of abilities. Timings will also factor heavily, and for now, we don't have exact calculations on how long her abilities last for, or how long it takes to regenerate them after use.

The timeframes will most certainly be the thing that either puts Conduit really high or relatively low on the meta ranking, and we'll be sure to update our legends tier list as soon as we get a proper feel for her in public and ranked matches.
