Once you've managed to steal a taxi, you need to press the respective button that shows up in the prompt on the top left corner. Once you press that button, the mission should get triggered.
These Taxi Driver missions are fairly simple to complete. All you need to do is drive around people from point A to point B.
There are a total of 50 levels in this missions. And you could complete the entire thing in an hour at max.
Your passengers will pop up randomly on the street. And they usually spawn pretty close to your car as well. All you need to do is pick them up and drive them to their destination within the set time limit.
This time limit is proportionate to the distance that you need to travel. You will also get small bonuses from reaching a few milestones through the mission.
Completing 5 continuous fares will net you around $500 as bonus, while 20 continuous fares will net you a $2000 bonus. On top of this, you will also earn a tip if you manage to keep your fare happy!
