Following the arrival of Street Fighter 6 earlier this year, many fighting game fans have been busy trying to master its modern controls, playing some classic titles in its arcade, or simply trying to stick to the rage-preventing ground rules they set themselves ahead of its release.

Meanwhile, those who prefer to do their bottom-kicking in slightly more brutal fashion have been getting ready to delve into Mortal Kombat 1 when it lands on September 19.

With a bunch of fresh trailers and gameplay impressions having begun to arrive as the game inches closer to dropping, fans have had plenty to dig into. However, there’s one character they haven’t gotten an official look at yet, with some hoping that’ll be rectified this week.

Are there any roster members you want to see more of before Mortal Kombat 1 arrives?

As confirmed by Mortal Kombat co-creator Ed Boon, MK1 is set to receive a launch trailer at some point this week, signalling that the final stages of pre-release hype for the game are upon us, and it’s time to start counting down the days until it arrives.

While many fighting game fans are excited, it seems there are a bunch of who are still either holding out hope that Reiko will be getting a showcase as part of the remaining promos for the game, or his own reveal trailer.

“Still no sign of a Reiko trailer,” user Own_Pain9714 has captioned their post of a screenshot of Boon’s launch trailer tweet, the responses to which have seen some fellow fans debate whether the returning character could pop up during the September 13 Kombat Kast, or during the launch trailer.

Others are discussing what they think the apparent decision not to give Reiko his own trailer, something Boon suggested would be coming in a tweet back in July, could imply about his importance in the game.

“Yeah, Reiko won't get his own trailer,” declared user HeavyNorseSFGB in the thread, adding: “[It] makes me sad, but I'll play him in four days time and see it all for myself, so I'll get over it. [It’s] just a shame that he's the only character left out like this.”
