The players of GTA Online generally aren’t the most religious of groups, unless you count worshipping the holy green glow of the GTA dollar or attending regular mass in Cayo Perico as they grind away.

However, it seems that one player, upon dipping into the game to play a bit of the just released Criminal Enterprises update, has witnessed their character have what can only be described as a holy experience.

Sadly, this God-induced glitch looks to have ended in a pretty horrific manner for the chosen one, with them being quickly brought back to earth via a helicopter.

GTA Protagonist’s Ascent to Heaven Certainly Ends With Them in the Afterlife

The thread concerning this event in the GTA Online subreddit began with a post from user DarkLegendsNeverDie, who shared a clip of the glitch in action, with their character slowly rising into the rotating blades, captioning it simply: “so my character decided to ascend to heaven.”

Several other players chimed in to agree with the assessment that this was more of a religious event than a glitch, with user 13941 declaring: “he's the chosen one” and mifadhil adding: “he decided to meet god, in more ways than one.”

Other users suggested the meaning behind the event might be less holy, with a few suggesting that Strangers Things’ Vecna might have used his powers to cause the poor protagonist’s demise and slowclapjohnny saying: “that would make a great scene in ‘The Boyz’ or another dark superhero movie.”

On the other hand, some sought more rational explanations for the occurrence, with user CaptainBraggy theorising: “Kosatka physics are like that” and qualified doctor Jg6915 advising: “Why don’t you enter the sub with your Sparrow?”

Meanwhile, some users just sat back and laughed at the absurdity of the miracle showcased in the clip, with user PopularAd8837 saying: “that was hilarious” and rateb03 adding: “this was the clip of the day, made me laugh.”
