While some GTA players are still trying to enjoy everything that Los Santos has to offer by getting up to wacky hijinks and spending all of their hard-earned cash, others are already looking forward to GTA 6.

For some, this has involved coming up with potential ideas for its soundtrack, working out how a social hub like Red Dead Redemption 2’s gang camp could fit into it or intensely debating whether the game’s first trailer will be released this month.

However, for those more concerned with the geography and world-building that’ll have gone into the game, the current element being discussed concerns those poor NPCs who’ll be tasked with containing the tide of criminals suddenly hitting Vice City whenever the game arrives.

Do you want to be chased by highway patrol officers in GTA 6?

This discussion is the subject of a recent thread on the GTA 6 subreddit, which began with a post from user yousif567, who suggested they’d like to see the game’s crimestoppers divided into three groups for different regions of the map, with the metropolitan Vice City department being flanked by separate divisions for rural areas.

This idea seemed to go down pretty well with their peers, though there was some debate over how exactly these departments would be named in order to reflect the jurisdictions of Florida's actual forces.

One branch many players want to see done better than in GTA 5 seems to be highway patrol units, with user BadgerDoesGames saying of San Andreas’ motorway patrols: “Their uniforms and bikes didn’t make sense, with inconsistencies across the name and decals of the department.”

Also on the wishlist is a well-fleshed-out and Miami Vice-style coastguard, with user Kriptic_TKM pointing out that drug trafficking will probably be on the future rap sheets of players diving into the game.

Meanwhile, some users are seemingly already preparing to have tanks on their tail if they arouse too much police attention, alluding to the likely inclusion of military-style units designed to target high profile offenders.

Regardless of which police cruisers you want to be chucked into the rear seats of in GTA 6, make sure to follow us for more GTA Online updates as new vehicles and more arrive.
