While some GTA Online players are already looking forward to GTA 6, others are still trying to enjoy everything that Los Santos has to offer by getting up to wacky hijinks and spending all of their hard-earned cash.

After all, if you don’t enjoy trying to predict what the next game’s map will look like, lack any hot takes regarding what or who it should include, and have given up agonising over how you’ll earn back your current fortune if the new game includes tax mechanics, why not just try to appreciate the final stretch of GTA Online?

In the case of some GTA players, this enjoyment is coming from the Halloween-themed events currently taking place in the game, though it seems these activities might be having a few unintended negative consequences for some participants.

Have GTA Online’s Halloween festivities caused you any headaches?

Their pain is the subject of a couple of recent threads on the GTA Online subreddit, the first of which began with a post from user lrobo04, who shared some screenshots of their characters weapon wheel and warned others: “Do not pick up any more pumpkins, (doing so) gave my a peyote plant trick, (which) took away every weapon I owned and (the game) is saying I need to buy (them) again.”

While a few of their fellow GTA stans couldn’t help but giggle at the situation, with user Empty_Nobody895 quipping: “Damn, now that's a real trick.”, many seemed to suggest they’d encountered a similar issue.

“(The) same thing happened to me but a restart fixed it.” revealed user Jaiden051, while Richtofan said: “This happened to me, too. I was able to regain my weapons but I had to repurchase all of the ammo.”

Meanwhile, in another thread, user JayDavid666 shared a clip of their plane’s engines cutting out when they neared one of the event’s UFOs, causing them to crash and lose a special cargo sale.

Several other players in the thread revealed that they’d either encountered the same thing or had worried about it when organising sales, while user Xfinity17 summed the situation up succinctly by saying: “Bro got griefed by aliens.”
