As the countdown for the Grand Theft Auto 6 trailer ticks down, Twitter users have made fascinating discoveries within the files of GTA 5. Among them are hints at a never-released story DLC and sequel to Rockstar's 2006 hit Bully.

First reported by VGC, a program database file has been ripped directly from the fifth game in the Grand Theft Auto series. In a post shared by @billsyliamgta, several lines of code cover everything from 'rdr2' to 'gta5_ps3' with the most notable lines mentioning 'jimmy' and 'bully2' a few lines later.

It's possible that the Jimmy mentioned is a reference to Michael's son from GTA 5's story, despite James "Jimmy" Hopkins being the protagonist of Bully. Some replies seem to think the Bully 2 referenced is actually the game's Scholarship edition. Regardless, the last we heard of Bully 2 was its outright cancellation despite almost being finished in 2009.

The investigation into GTA 5's cut content gets more interesting with the scraps of code shared by @GlowDevs. In what the user calls "cops 'n' crooks", eight roles were uncovered: Cop, Crook, Officer, Tactical, Tech, Soldier, Enforcer, and Hacker. To speculate, these seem like roles taken in a large-scale heist, which would certainly make for an exciting expansion to the stories of Franklin, Trevor, and Michael.

The same user shared code referencing a never-released flash grenade and ability to barge through doors. The latter does not appear in GTA 5, but is present in Red Dead Redemption 2 and will likely continue into GTA 6. Evidence of a jetpack with links to Trevor was also discovered, which many believe was repurposed for the jetpacks seen in the Doomsday Heist that came to GTA Online in 2017.

The reuse of old ideas and assets is also seen in the abilities provided to the cops and crooks. EMP mines, for example, appeared in GTA Online in 2021 while players have yet to see the spike mines or purchasable XP boosts glimpsed in the same file.
