While a lot of Cyberpunk 2077 players are already imagining how sweet life will be when the Phantom Liberty Expansion arrives and they can ditch their old flame Keanu Reeves for a fresh celebrity companion in Idris Elba, some are still hanging out in Night City while they wait.
The average day experienced by these veteran players can move at a pretty breakneck pace, given that they spend a lot of time shooting or quickhacking their way through cybernetically-enhanced foes to complete gigs or simply survive on the dangerous streets of CD Projekt Red’s urban jungle.
If you’re the kind of choom who likes to augment the rugged mercenary aesthetic with a cool car that’ll ensure you turn heads whenever you pull up at The Afterlife, a new mod, which continues a recent trend of bringing killer retro rides to Night City, might be worth adding to your load order.
Do you fancy channelling your inner Brian O'Conner as you cruise the streets of Cyberpunk 2077's metropolis?
The mod in question is called ‘02' Nissan Skyline GT-R R34’ and is the work of modder ctxrlsec. Some of their previous projects have made Cyberpunk 2077 look a bit more like 2015’s Need For Speed reboot and brought the attractive hues of Californian sun to its lighting.
This time, they’ve decided to add the iconic Nissan Skyline GT-R R34 to the game as a standalone car that you can buy via DJ_Kovrik’s ‘Virtual Car Dealer’ and use to outrun the futuristic vehicles that make up the rest of the game’s traffic.
Available in a wide range of colours and with a special off-road version, as well as its own unique scanner description that helps to make it fit in Cyberpunk’s world, this ride is another that’ll definitely help you stand out from the game’s street racing crowd without having to steal Johnny Silverhand’s style by taking his Porsche for a spin.
Ctxrlsec also seemingly has plans to add a version of the car with some custom modifications to the game via future updates to the mod, having asked in the mod’s posts section whether fellow players would prefer a real world body kit or a one inspired by Need For Speed Underground if this were to happen.
Though, before you fire up your new Skyline, you’ll first have to grab psiberx’s ‘ArchiveXL’ and ‘TweakXL’, without which it might not start.
