It’s that time again. The Call of Duty complaints department is open for business in 2023! Whether it’s Warzone 2 or Modern Warfare 2, there’s always something happening that’s getting the community talking.

Throughout January, the attention of most fans has turned towards the launch of Season Two for both games. While Modern Warfare 2 players believe Infinity Ward is prioritising Warzone 2, those dropping into Al Mazrah continue experiencing a variety of game-breaking bugs and glitches affecting various areas of the battle royale.

So, what’s been grinding the gears of players in the final weeks of Season One? Before we take a look, don’t forget to take a look at the current Warzone 2 meta and a look at the Modern Warfare 2 Season Two early patch notes.

5) Warzone 2 players are 'brainless gamers'

The first entry on our list comes from content creator Dr Disrespect. Often sharing his thoughts on the state of Warzone and the Call of Duty franchise, the streamer claims Warzone 2 is designed for ‘brainless gamers’ when referring to the lack of skill gap.

“It’s crazy how they allow brainless gamers to win fights in this game,” explains the streamer that believes there’s no way to outplay an opponent due to slower movement mechanics. Thankfully, Season Two will include some adjustments to the core mechanics.

4) The return of a fan-favourite mode

Finally! Following a recent Modern Warfare 2 leak, the hugely popular Gunfight mode is making its way to multiplayer. Those crafty data miners have been at it again and managed to find the logo for the mode.

The demand for Gunfight to arrive in MW2 has been high since the game launched in October and after several months of waiting, the prayers of the community might be answered in the not-too-distant future.

3) Low TTK is killing Warzone 2

The first of our podium sitters involves the incredibly low time to kill (TTK) in Warzone 2 that’s killing the game. The current meta features a handful of weapons capable of taking you down in the blink of an eye and it’s no wonder players are getting frustrated.

On the upside, Infinity Ward is teasing a dose of weapon balancing for the upcoming season, meaning TTK combined with three-plate vests as standard will create a higher TTK and a higher skill gap.

2) The greatest Call of Duty maps ever

Narrowly missing out on the top step of the podium this month is a discussion surrounding the greatest Call of Duty maps of all time. Whether it’s Shipment, Shoot House, or Standoff, there are several battlegrounds that stick in the minds of fans.

It’s safe to say that Modern Warfare 2 doesn’t have any maps anywhere near the top tier after one full season but there’s still time for Infinity Ward to create some maps that transcend the franchise just like Crash and Rust have done in the past.

1) The failure of Warzone 2

Before Infinity Ward started unveiling all of the changes making their way to Warzone 2 in Season Two, the battle royale was on a downward slope towards failure. With numerous bugs and glitches impacting players and a stale weapon meta, it’s hardly surprising to see the player count declining.

Thankfully, it appears the developer is listening to community feedback so there’s a high chance the game avoids a trip to its own gulag.

The Call of Duty complaints department is now closed for another month. Don’t forget to drop by in February to see what’s got the CoD community talking. In the meantime, check out our guides showcasing the current Warzone 2 meta and the latest intel on the next Modern Warfare 2 double XP event.
